  • PLZ HELP ME

i made a go kart with full suspention and am throwing a 200cc 4 stroke motor off a dirt bike on it but cant find a way to get the shifter to go through a flexible wire (so it can move with the suspention) plzzzz reply if u have any ideas or vidoes of a solution

  • @boredashellll Hi ! The easiest way is to use the cable from a cable operated gearshift, found on some cars. the breakers yard will be full of them. Mount the sleeve, possibly using the donor cars cable bracket, on the bike gearbox and attach the inner cable to the shifter.the cable bracket needs some movement so that the cable does not bind.the shifter can be a lever on a pivot at the other end with the sleeve mounted in line with the pivot travel and the inner cable attached to the lever.ENJOY

  • @boredashellll i would a cable off something like a front wheel drive ford windstar from an auto wreckers...

its solid enough to move forcibly in both directions.

even take the brackets tat mount it in place...

if youwanted to get real creative, grab the shift lever etc as well, set it up to jsut give it a "quick slap" to shift.

but however you do it, if you use the cable, be sure to have some springs on there to pull the lever itself back to center.

at least thats how i would rig it up..

  • ejejejejej que ipno

  • would i get a detention if i took it to my middle school?

  • you need some real meat on the back! those tires are should be in the front! lol nice job though, those shocks look to be pretty dialed in, not super stiff or t mushy.

  • dude!! you no what you are doing dont ya! how much does that thing weigh? i have a 2000 cr 80 and its pretty fast but that thing must be light as a feather!!

  • nice kart by the way...

  • were dou get the axle?

  • where and how did u get the frame????

  • the frame is steel pipe bent into shape in a shed.

  • I´ll get some :`(

  • How did you make the swing arm?

  • please help me i need to know how to fix this !!!!! whenever i make a hard turn on my go-cart i engine shuts down?also my go-cart is only 1 wheel drive with now suspention how can i make it 2 wheel with suspention

  • First learn to spell

  • you cant fix it. you need a new frame with a live axel and shocks. when you are turning hard you cart is flooding

  • does it have 2 wheel drive??

  • yes both back wheels drive.

  • how much did it cost to make that?

  • Sounds like a dirtbike. Nice

  • Comment removed

  • if u maked it a little bit longer and put bigger tyres on it then that thing woud be more stable but dam that thing is quick

  • thats sweet i was gonna make a 125cc shifter cart stright axl just to play around with but shit for that only bein a 80cc it looked fast enough

  • on averrage how much would one of these cost with a lawn mower engine?

  • this guy used perfect engine size and gearing, not to fast that it is ripping its self apart, but still fun to rid.... nice work on the chassy. i may have to make one now lol.

  • where did you put ur clutch pedel??

  • nice ride man

  • does the sispesson really work?

  • im doing the same thing with my old kawasakii 100 because the motor and transmission still work but some other stuff is screwed up but i caint figure out wat to do for an axle got any ideas

  • I have used 38mm pipe, without the rear suspension I think the axle would bend.

  • good camera work

  • You live in a nice area.

  • would an old mx 100 motor go better in one of these than an 1979 rm 80 motor?

  • Any motor that is not watercooled will get very hot and you have to put it behind the seat, this will make the kart longer!go for the least wornout if thats all you got.

  • i want that lol

  • how did u mount the sropket to the axle..?? and where did u get those tires. and where did u get the axle??

  • the axle is pipe and the sprocket bolts to a 3mm plate which is welded to the axle.wheels are 8" from wheelbarrows,6" from hand trolley all rims must be reinforced or they will break in minutes.

  • Looks like a fun little toy.

  • go-karts are way better then dirt bikes expecially off road go-karts!!

P.S does any1 know how i can make my go-kart go off road?

  • hah got a welder and some metal and a motor and wheels and such?

  • how much did it cost you to build that cause I was looking to build one

  • hahah sick man i got a rm 80 and i dont wonna ride it i think i might jst do u did coz its fearly quick and heaps of fun

  • you get to use full throttle without doing a back flip!

  • lol sounds like a pissed off chain saw

  • That poor poor dirt bike... May it rest in peace....

  • hw did you set the back suspension up?

  • a homemade swingarm with the cr80 rear shock and copy the hole mounting postion off cr frame.
