YOO i was getting scared i was like where the fuck is The Left..but yU honorable mention? come on, and fucking hate rappers...thats packs best song by far but its crazy tight
man i've got to cop homeboy sandman and grey matter albums, sound dope as, but still think the left should've been number 1. you can't tell me that isn't a 5 mic album. and brown study should've made the top 25, and nineteen ninety now higher definately. but still you put the best lists on youtube by far, well done and looking forward to the 2011 edition.
25. Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty 24. DJ Muggs & Ill Bill - Kill Devil Hills 23. Rick Ross – Teflon Don 22. General Steele - Amerikkka's Nightmare, Pt. 2 - Children Of War 21. Richie Cunning - Night Train 20. Reflection Eternal - Revolutions Per Minute 19. Boog Brown & Apollo Brown – Brown Study 18. The Left - Gas Mask 17. Bekay - Hunger Pains 16. Apollo Brown – The Reset 15. Strong Arm Steady - In Search Of Stoney Jackson
Dude ur list is sick big ups. My list is a bit more mainstream. I got ur #1 as my #4 & ur #4 as my #1. Some of my top 25 were albums from 09 that I did not know about like Diamond District untill 2010 & Ghostface album came late in the year so that will be considered for my 2011 list. I almost considered 9th & DB, Shad, Marciano, Qwel & Maker, Skyzoo & illmind, Blacastan, Here is my list
The whole time I'm watchin this video, I'm just thinkin "C'mon c'mon, when is Gas Mask gonna show up?!?!" Lol it was my fav album of 2010. #3 is cool with me though.
Well....this list is interesting..i agree with all of it..except maybe switch TSOL with MBDTF....in my opinion MBDTF was the most disapointing album of the year..Kayne could do soo much better.
A great list as always.I was really pleasently surprised that you put Earl on your top 25,but in my opinionion it should have been higher.I still to this day can't understand why everyone loves Kanye's new album.I've listened to it a few times,it's definitely good, but I don't think that it should be in the top 5.
i couldn't agree more with the top 5. if i had one omission i thought should've been there it's in Talib's Revolutions Per Minute but it's hard for me to try and choose an album on the list i think it should replace lol. so no complaints.
@icronianson I was really looking forward to this album, but in my opinion it was one of the most disappointing albums of the year. I only really enjoyed about 5 of the 17 tracks. His new album Gutter Rainbows is an overall better album IMO, but it still also fell short of my expectations. I just think Kweli has to have a better ear for beats. SAME GOES FOR NAS. Just my two cents.
@KountdownKing Gutter Rainbows was a much better album overall. I really couldn't find an album in your top 25 that i thought shouldn't be over Revolutions Per Minute which is why i wouldn't jump up and down in complaint. i was just a little surprised it wasn't an honorable mention. but your point about the beats was absolutely right (especially with nas). i think some of talib's verses were a little watered down. though to me there were 7 tracks that was vintage kweli.
@DubiousDiggieDungPow I can't believe i forgot about that album...but it still would've been tough for me to replace it with something else from my 25.
Yo this is a dope list man. I like to think I know a lil sumthin about hip-hop but I ain't even heard of a bunch of these (including your #1!). Def gonna check em out. Just out of curiousity, what did u think of the DPG album 100 Wayz? No joke, were you kind of surprised by it... I found it surprisingly good I was bumpin that for a good part of the year. Not sayin its up there with these joints but compared to all of the garbage they been spewing since Dogg Food... peace.
I love your proffesionalism on these lists , your taste in choosing the best but answer this question.Isn't Eminem hip hop? With the illness he came out this year , i really don't get it why he's missing this list.
@killaseason999 I'm downloading 3 of them right now, Celph Titled, H.I.S.D., and The Left.
I either have or know about most of the rest, definitely a solid list, though, Bastard by Tyler, The Creator would be on there and Earl would be higher ranked.
And I'm glad this dude didn't count out Kanye for his mainstream shit, it's a great album.
Your lists are amazing. I love indie/underground hip hop and I always discover new awesomeness from these lists. I dont want to spoil it for some, so lets just say until number one I kept thinking, "where is it?" And, yep, there he is, numero uno.

Apollo Brown's The Reset should be somewhere on this list. It was best produced album, behind only Kno's "Death is Silent"
