  • ROTENONE ROTENONE ROTENONE

  • @sirsrose

It's an Alice Pack. The military used the Alice packs (or ruck sack) before they came out with the MOLLE Pack.

You can find them on eBay, for sometimes dirt cheap.

  • what type of bag is that and where did u get it

  • Check out my U.K Survival bag guys! Look in my vids :D

  • Dry TP. Lol, yes, nothing is worse than to use wet TP indeed :-)

  • Ice packs for Idaho?

    :)

    Sissy.

    ----Native Floridian

  • @syntaxerror6 umm coughnativehereaswellcough..when you have a bunch of newbs humping rucks in 100+f temps.....with no road access for EMS..you hump ice packs for your medical guy....;)

  • @delta69alpha

Roger that :) Just tuggin' your chain :)

  • @delta69alpha

i live in oklahoma and it gets like 110f here and like -10f in winter. im good for temp.

  • Crickey, I take less than that on a full-on camping trip! This video is more bushcraft than survival. With all of that gear, you might as well through in a bit of freeze-dried food and call it what it is... camping.

  • @Raksaht listen to what i say in this film or to make it easy on you just read the film description. But to help ya out here it is pasted " This is part 1 of a 4 part film Showing what can be packed in a 3 day BOB or Bug out bag /ghb or for a 3+ day backpacking trip. Bob shows you how your core Bug out bag gear and other items that are part of your BOB can and do double as your backpacking gear. The easiest way to learn and use your BOB before an event!"

hope that clears it up for you.

  • @delta69alpha - yes sir, I watched all parts. There was some good info in there too of course. I personally prefer a more minimalistic approach and would have chosen some items differently. Still an enjoyable video... thanks

  • don't forget a Bible in your bags you are going to need it. all in all i like your videos and this one if full of great info!

  • @mechanicalbu11 i agree, it makes Excellent tinder when starting a fire.

  • @Daarkhawk the bug out bibles are flame resistant and water proof. going to be hard to burn.

  • hey souther idaho have you heard of sun valley?

  • take care of your gear and your gear will take care of you... Navy Seals

  • how many litres are in a medium and large alice??

  • OOPPPsss!!!sorry man! it`s my mistake, my comment was for another video...i was looking at different videos at the same time.

Anyway...good job and nice vid :)

  • @gloupek9 no problem, glad you enjoyed them

  • OK! nice selection of equipment but however...how are you planning to carry all that?

i`ve just bought a "TT range Tasmanian Tiger G82 X1" military backpack which i believe is the best engineered carrying system available today, my bag has a 120 liters capacity and is designed to carry extreme loads comfortably, however i`m not planning to carry all these ammunitions! what about Xtreme cold? a tiny sleeping bag is not efficient for a cold camp! water filtering? the environment may kill u!

  • @gloupek9 This film shows a summer bag set up not a winter set up. My winter Bag is a kelty military 4k ci falcon. I use a marmot 30f bag, bivy bag, usgi issue therma rest as my main set up. I also carry a slumber jack zeroF rated bag if i leave my AO for a colder one. My pack weight ranges from 26lbsin summer to 35 in winter with out major firearm support ( thats another 25). There is also plenty of water filtering equipment shown as well ( katadyne/platypus set ups and bladders) D69A

  • why only 3 days

  • @survivor8bit it was only a 2 day backpacking trip. This was to show that your core items in your BOB are pretty much identical to what you may pack for a backpacking trip. I explain that in the description and in the film. D69A

  • @delta69alpha oh ok

  • jghhieoghtnkuhjlsmhnjkshyskjhst;h

  • but so many of these (bags and videos) are for the end of the world situations i know things aren't getting any better. thanks for your comments i'll think about it and look into one.. how about cheaeper then dirt i buy alot of ammo from them and they have a nice selection of bob items then what kind of radio i think u said 2 meter what is that exactly i am very curious and thank you e very much answering my questions

  • @GONECRUISING72 2m is ham radio. Yes most folks have their kits set up for some dream of "bugging out". Ask them where...and if they have all of their preps prepostioned there. You wont find many that have planned that far. BOB items are dependant on what your plan is. Like i said. Your BOB may be a simple change of clothes for work, spare cell battery, some money and snacks, maybe a flash light and book. It really is all dictated by what you are prepareing for. D69

  • i am on the fence about a b.o.b. so what can u say to convince me to get one. are u bugging out or bugging in.. once the shit hits the fan, will we be allowed to move freely i doubt it, so where are we to go to sorry for asking such simple ?'s i saw vids from katrina and the residents guns were taking and the cops and army clamped down hard on people things are going to hell but this will run me quite a few hundred bucks.any words of wisdom thanks

  • @GONECRUISING72 "ohh damn..chemical spill....." the BOB is for any event where you would have to evac fast and still have your basic needs covered. house fire? Toss it out th window before you climb out. The examples are endless, as are what you put in your BOB. Yours could be a spare change of clothes, some extra cash, some snacks and a radio, while mine may be a full 7 days of back country gear. Tailor it to your planning. D69A

  • @GONECRUISING72 A "Bug Out Bag" is just insurance, the same as having any other kind of insurance. It's cheaper in the long run because the B.O.B. stuff is yours until you sell it or give it away. It's also more fun and cost effective because using your B.O.B., camping out and practicing your basic survival skills is a fun and inexpensive hobby that may someday save your life. There's never any "return" on car or home insurance unless you have an accident and paying those premiums is never fun.

  • @Nako521 since this posting i invested in a maxpadition vulture 2 and bought supplies from cheaper then dirt and amazon i figured better safe then sorry plus there is a campground not to far away plus lots of trails

  • I have used bladders extensively in distance hiking, and eventually they all fail. what's never failed ar 1 liter gatorade bottles. lighter weight, more durable, never fail... you'll hardly ever see a full time distance hiker who uses bladders anymore.

  • @OutPostandEcho i have had zero issue with these older platypus ones. They get abused(tossed on the ground.rolled up,folded etc) not one has leaked or burst. Maybe im just not trying hard enough to break them ;p

  • @delta69alpha

you're the second person i have heard who has first gen platypus bottles and likes them. i think their quality may have dropped recently. i blew through four of them just in training hikes. i have a 10Litre MSR Dromedary, but it's far too heavy to really use. 1litre water bottles are .25 of an ounce, so they will still beat any bladder; if of course you can handle the bulk of them as they don't crush.

good luck, and thanks for the great vids !

    ~Paul

  • GOOD INFO

  • i have a similar setup my 3l cb bladder is in between the frame and the pack. im always tweaking my kit when i get back from a trip. good vid

  • You guys do know if what happens is a NWO situation, there going to come in the winter, it will be cold without heaters and the FEMA camps will be warm as hell because it's he'll on but pack thermal sheets

  • @mrtampenski Thats why you store up hate...it keeps you warm ;)

  • three three threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee liter...

  • You have AT&T or T-Mobile cell service. I heard it at 7:35-7:38 on the audio. Their signals interfere with radios and electronics bad. Great video, thanks.

  • Wow, I didn't know it got so hot in "Southern Idaho" :)

  • @watuwaitn4 yeah it rains everyday between 2-4pm to ;p

  • WOW, you live in Iowa? Have you ever tried going up to Back Bone? If so go down by Lake Rathbun and there is lots of ground to cover down there

  • What bag are you using in this video?

  • What kind of bag are you using in this video?

  • really the only difference in between my sort of survival kit and my B.O.B is that my bug out bag has more food and a defensive firearm

  • wow, maby im weird or something but im always using 550 cord. nice vid

  • ok ive been in the armed forces for some time and this is a real decent pack to have and good load out i can also recomend whats known as a cyclops pack you can get from militeria stores as there old british 180s battle bergans but make superb bobs

  • Hello again, What do you think of FEMA / RED Cross information and their Bail Out Bag kit that sells which includes all the basic needs to last 72 hours ? Perhaps you can buy this $35 with everything in it, and modify them from there IF needed... ?

  • Which brand / kind / type of Back Pack do you use / recommend ?

  • I like keltys. No matter what you pick get your torso sized and have the pack fitted to you!

  • @delta69alpha where do u get all that gear

  • were do u get that gear

  • It`s great nice work .Whats a patrol roll?

    Great.

  • 1.5 oz ripstop layered with 100wt fleece.

  • Add a pair or two of extra socks and some moleskin because you will get blisters on your feet after all of that walking around.

  • do u recommend shoulder bags

  • what do you do if the food goes bad before you get a chance to use the bag?

  • You should be using your bag during the year to train with. When you do, you use/rotate that food.

  • @BuckeyeSparky: you want to choose foods that don't got off for months or years such as canned food, MREs, protein bars etc. If you don't use them, you want to eat the foods close to their use by date and then replace them.

  • 99% of the ppl are gonna be on foot...get use to the idea. BOV are a luxury you cant depend on. Also, PT , get use to doing it now

  • Been trying to get my hands on that awesome 6L Camelbak bladder. Summer hits over a 100 where I am daily

  • Go with the smaller ones and get 2 -3 of them. It is actually lighter that way and 6L of h20 at one time gets pretty heavy. Reason i use the platypus bags. They are 4 times lighter, cheaper than the cbaks and hold up as well. They also pack smaller. This gives you more options with your h20 storage and treatment when on the go. You can have 3L sitting being treated while your have 3l on hand to use already!

    D

  • Yeah I was concerned with possible contamination, but the idea of a 6L Camelbak bladder is enticing. In all my years using Camelbak I have never once had a leak from their bladders. They are insanely tough and have won over my loyalty. They are also highly anti-microbial. You make good points though. I of course would still have my liter nalgene.

  • in my bob bag i woild have a 20 litre rucksack(rambler) a machete/big knife a regular knife penknife bleach 2litre water container poncho/space blanket/sleeping bag eating utensils(and spares) torchx2(one reg batteries and 1 crank up freezer bags clothes(shoes/army boots and hiking boots) a book(a good one but not the bible ..sorry to a
  • i see you said would have... these wont heplp ifyou did have them get thm and be prepared

  • inmy bog i have some jello beef jerky and duck tape..you need to get em jello throw it in a pot with some water boil it its full of calories and sugars and it gives u somethin warm to drink when its cold.

  • what about a sleeping blanket or wool blanket or somthing if you cant have a fire and how would you attach it to your alice and a sleeping pad even if you dont think you would need it how would you attach it?

  • ALice pack has places to lash/strap /attach on the sides and bottomof the ruck. I would usaully carry my bag on the of the ruck when backpacking.

  • where do you get the water bags?and hydration packs?

  • The clear ones are platypus bags. You can purchase them online at campmor ,REI etc.

  • Hey, what if the disaster destroys your house?, you won't have a castle to put all that canned food in.

  • what if......thats a big game to play.;p

  • I;m putting a bob together for each of my kids. They can carry things they might need. As well as packing more of common goods.

  • @TheUnNerved lol

  • All of this is pointless if you have kids, wtf are you supposed to do with your kids? Good video

  • Well this movie was about packing your BOB for backpacking. I see plenty of kids backpacking! BOBs are to help get you to your planned BOL. I have kids as do many others, there are 100 ways to get where you need to. There is no reason to say " yip, got a kid cant do anything , lets just sit here and die..."

Not a good attitude to have.

    D69A

  • Very True, But with an infant and a three year old it will be interesting

  • You'll be carrying the load for yourself and your wife/significant other. Your wife/other will carry your infant in a backpack-type carrier that has some storage capacity for your infants gear; or in a chest rig with a small backpack. Your three year old will be walking with a backpack, or in a stroller if that's better suited. That's just my suggestion, and not to be taken as gospel.

  • Points you may want to consider are your family's fitness/load carrying capacity, any health issues, your environment (ie urban, rural, etc), and the climate in your area. Then plan accordingly.

  • I suppose it just depends on the situation.

  • Yup - pretty much.

  • doesnt everything??

  • Im not talking about being a kid, i was talking about having small children. Good to see the youth is prepared though. good job

  • @TexasDistortion texas suck i hafe to live in it

  • I thought shelter was important. You do not have shelter on your bag

  • Did you even watch the 3 other parts that go with this film, as shelter is shown and talked about in those.

  • what would you recommend to fill a system like this?

Im lookin at long distance travel and long term survival. Any other recommendations for anything of the sort for something like that would be very great.

  • Well as i said below a BOB is to get your from point A to point B. As to long distance hiking. I would get your torso sized and buy a pack that fits you. There are many brands that will work out there. I go over some of those in the BOB basics movie. As to what to put in it. That is up to the user. The basic core items ( food/water/shelter) will be the same for everyone, but clothing and extras will vary per person and what they are preparing for.

  • Hmm... you should get a scale, like a fish scale and show us how much your pack weights. How much the Ideal pack should weigh. And have one that isn't necessarily geared to season. One that is in the corner ready for all seasons. That would help me, as I am a build it, leave it kind of guy.

  • On avg a 3 day ruck should weigh between 30-40 lbs for a BOB. The more you use your pack and gear the lighter it will get. The pack shown in this film weighed in around 30 lbs if i recall.

  • Thank you for your response. I enjoy your videos my friend.

  • good vid

  • Comment removed

  • Reason why i preach that a BOB is to get you to your BOL not to live out of ( failed plan from the get go ) Granted under some scenarios a "bug out" on foot is or will not be wise. Bombs,Bio etc, are some off the top of my head that may lead you to shelter in place until it is safe to leave.

BOB's are also not always about running to the woods. A simple tornado or hurricane may head your way and that BOB is what you take on the way out to the motel 6 ;p.

    Thanks for viewing.

  • if we stay to house we get the quarantine so personally i prefer to run and not die from the swine flu, and its not evryone want to go to mountain but more its cold less the virus will come, we are just going in to a big forest we have a hq over there

  • My plan has always been bug in. I don't really have a plan B. =-(

Maybe Isolation, and breathing equipment will save us. I sure hope so. I am days away from Mountains.

  • Then again, it might not be swine flue. It might be a lethal dose from a Chem trail, or an invading force.

Ruby Ridge happens. Or at least it did.

  • yup, Chemtrails let us less chance to survive from the swine flue, its our imunitary system is going down with the chemtrails, thats why they putted alot of those chemical trails, the swine flue has been created in lab.. not just nature virus

  • EMT trick with ACE packs, if you have a deep laceration or cut, place a ice pack on the wound over the dressing, then wrap it tight. it'll stop the bleeding and relieve the pain.

  • I gave a thanks, but can anyone verify this? Sounds smart and solid.

  • it works, ive seen a few times.

  • I treated all my fabric (back pack) with a waterproofing spray, ziplocked bagged all contents for water proofing and basically focused on dual purpose items like using a mosquito net for catching bait fish etc. Everything as a multi purpose.

  • Amen to that!

  • Seems like everyone is building bags that look very military. If shit hits the fan and I am leaving my city....I don't wanna look like soldier. Just blend in with the masses but still be able to bust someones ass.

  • Easy fix for that. Throw a colorful cover over a military style ruck, or just ditch the ruck and go with a commercial brand backpack. I recommend Kelty.

  • people use those packs cuz therre big, durable, and very cheap

  • is that "red dawn" music you play at the end ?

  • Wolverines!

  • This is exactly the type of video series I was looking for, and I am enjoying it...but I feel that you could significantly reduce the time of these videos and include more information if you scripted them. I don't know how many "alright?"s I've already heard. Also subtitles would help. You mentioned an NU02 Tent in the last video and several other brand names I can't find on the Internet.

  • Sorry it is an INYO 2 by Coleman its their exponent line or gear. Its a pretty good entry line 1-2 person bivy tent for those that wish to have a tent. This series on packing was showing what could be packed and most of what i carried on a 15 mile summer hike this past Sept. Scripting,,you dont like us sitting there going " umm right here is my ummm...OH TP...." LOL. Thanks for the input and thanks for watching!

  • Being an Army Medic, I put more stock into medical stuff and food than comms or bullets.

On another subject, I was wondering if you could do a demo on making bread with a dutch oven. My survival retreat is VERY primative and I have a feeling I'll be cooking a lot with fire. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I saw the cobblers and stuff you made w/ dutch oven. I need to know how to make basic bread with wheat storage, honey, salt, etc.

    Love your postings!

  • Take your sourdough along. Put a portion of flour in bowl, make a well;pour sourdough starter in. Add a spoon of honey, some salt (usual 1 tsp to 1lb dough, a good pinch of soda in bit of water) Mix it up with no streaks of dry flour, let sit while pan heats. I oil hands then roll dough with oily hands...pinch off blobs and put in hot dutch off side of fire. Cover and bake. Assume you have well seasoned dutch not cleaned with soap or sand, otherwise you might want to oil it. Replenish startr

  • delta69alpha does a great job, but if your looking for some other guys that know their shit, check out nutnfancy.

  • another good thing to have on hand is a small supply of womens ultra-thin maxi pads. they are great for large wounds, and are specially made for absorbing blood.

    learned this in a first-aid course ;-)

  • i have learned more from your videos than i have from most any book or person that i have talked to, you guys got your sh!t together and are willing to share the wealth of knowledge. thanks for the help! keep'em coming!

  • what does p.a.w mean

    and nice vid

  • "post apocalyptic world" i think.

  • Indeed

  • Cool vids.
