That seemed pretty good. The main flaws that I could see were that it didn't seem to be a particularly hot fire, and it only came out in bursts. For a basic flamethrower and simple effects (not to mention how simple it is to make) it's actually pretty decent. Good job on the video, though next time shoot it at something flammable so we can measure its actual effectiveness.

i have an old style water gun that can shoot a stream about as thick as a hose um to 60 feet when full y pumped and on its highest pressure setting it can shoot a thin stream 120 feet the only problem is its old and leaky but if it was new and not leaky then it would be similar to a real flame thrower it even has a strap for your shoulder because of its weight i wish i had a new one of these but i doubt they still make them good bey off to google "giant water gun"

Step 1:get a water gun gasoline and a lighter

Step 2:Fill the water gun with gasoline

Step 3: hold the lighter up to the front of the water gun where the water comes out.

Step 4:fire the gun and you have a flame thrower

have a burning licence before you do this

there is a risk that the water gun with explode in your face witch will cause death Seriously you really shouldn't do this.

For anyone saying that this is too dangerous, keep in mind that if you use lighter fluid or something of the like, it will not accidently blow up in your face or light your hand on fire. This kind of fuel will work, but is not explosive like gas.
