  • fuckin' refs. if the Kiwi's are allowed to do a bloody wardance the opponents should be allowed to challenge them.

  • All teams should walk up and take the challenge . Good on you Irish for showing some balls! Fukn mean!

  • Hey I don't see the problem here . it all comes down to the drama of the game . The Haka certainly adds alot to it. it raks up both teams in their own ways. Nz as a challenge. Ireland frustration that they haven't beaten nz in over 100 years. Just watch and be happy that your playing the best there is!

  • And the Irish got flogged i guess?

  • who won that game ?

  • I can't understand why people think the Irish were being disrespectful. The Haka is about intimidating your opponents, so why can't any other team stand up and challenge the Haka to show that they aren't intimidated. If someone came up to you in the street and started to intimidate you, your hardly going to stand there and take it for fear of being 'disrespectful' you'd stand up for yourself and show them that your not afraid.

  • as far as im aware..the irish can keep challenging the haka like this as they always do...cause in the end they motivate the kiwis more and end up getting smashed on the field everytime :)...maybe the Irish can do the riverdance while the haka is going, if that provides them motivation!

  • I think it was rather disrespectful of Ireland to do that. But at the same time, the haka is fucking hilarious. I die laughing each time I see it. If any New Zealanders call me racist for that I will scream, you have have a brilliant country but the haka is pretty laughable!

  • i admire the all blacks because there passion for the sport,im from a small place in ireland where rugby is our religon just like the all blacks (munster).. the new zealand player are laying down a challenge when doing the haka,we were just simply accepting..there is obviously some fools from both countrys here ,but the fact of the matter is,we accepted your challenge, deal with it.

  • It would be nice if ireland can work hard out on thier rugby so that they can actually beat rugby teams from Aotearoa..haven't beaten the mighty All Blacks, get hidings from the under 20 and the list goes on. Forget about bad mouthing the haka cos it ain't going to go away, ireland! please try harder to beat our rugby teams ha,ha.ha.ha!!!!!

  • irish are mad cunts

  • y are you all arguing? The haka is great and traditional and I just love seeing it. The Irish weren't disrespecting it. They were challenging it juts like Anderson did back in 1989. IT'S RUGBY BABY!

  • No offence but it is U20...

  • realistically they perfectly entitled to do their haka, and were perfectly entitled to challenge it. im irish by the way

  • WOW, it always turns racist on here dont it?

The Haka was only ever performed by the Abs overseas while on tour. Its one of the early traditions of international rugby. I say if the welsh etc dont want us to perform it in their satdiums then FUCK THEM. Just sit back and watch a real team show you how to play the game. I would be happy to only have the Abs etc perform at home, but thats not tradition is it?

Just enjoy it! You have FUCK all else to cheer about!!

  • You believe that the haka is simply a dance or theatre you have no idea of our culture and mana, you think it is best to hide or go warm up and try to ignore the haka or to laugh at it look at history. Ask Willie mason if it is best to laugh at the haka?. The biggest thrashing New Zealand has ever given Australia was when they ignored the haka and they never dared again.

  • Fucking idiots, the haka is a challenge and by confronting NZ it's accepting the challenge, its only respectful to accept the challenge rather than staring it on from a distance like mindless fucks.. Commentators are idiotic dickheads

  • I'd say disrespecting the haka is only goin to psych the New Zealanders up more than the haka already would!

  • Fukk All u haters NZ is the best ohh an NewZealand Won so fuk u ireland haha Rugby is Our Game.

  • Who won?

  • they can beat the irish they always have bro just like with brian o driscool

  • kiwis would of pumped them haha

  • awesome ireland you stood proud and went up and faced the haka..awesome..should of fucking smashed those refs for trying to push you back..no one touches one...if they do..its fucking on!!! dont care who it is!!! too much Ireland and awesome Haka!!!!

  • Fucking irritating these NZ'ers. Don't understand why teams don't just fuck off and warm up or something, Campo had the right idea. Why "respond" or "accept the challenge" to a bunch of pansies dancing? Or heres a good one just stand there laughing your bollox off and pointing at grown men throwing shapes. They are good at the rugby though. I'll give them that.

  • @corny165 there not pansies dancing dont disrespect it bro..irish and maori are very similar all fight and killed the english

  • @htowndubcity Come off it mate. Its needless posturing. Its akin to the Irish doing the riverdance before a match or the Englsh doing some Morris dancing. Its just commercialism that looks good on a nike advert if we're honest. To the people who know better its a laughable attempt to look hard.

  • @corny165 nah its traditional its been done for hundreds of years all over polynesia as a war dance getting ready for battle

  • @htowndubcity Yeah thats great but why do a war dance before a fuckin game. Its sport not war and like i said if anyone thinks this shit is intimidating they're fuckin retards. A dance from 20 paces won't be breaking any bones. Fact is the Haka's only been done (in its present guise) for about 20 years now. Before that they used to perform for the crowd in an even more laughable show. Now its all commercialism with the fools of the world thinking its cool. Its not.

  • @htowndubcity Front up? Ha ha. Since when does dancing hurt you? Dancing is for entertainment in my world pal if it scares the fuck out of you thats your problem.

No i don't find slapping your knees or flashing your tongues in unison the slightest bit intimidating. They look like fuckin tools to me. NZ'ers seem to think the whole world fears their haka. Isolation and endless amounts of sheep shagging can fuck with your brain you know.

  • @BigskinPhil I don't doubt they're lovely people off the pitch but are you telling me you played rugby at the top level and you were intimidated by men dancing? No offence but a dance never hurt anyone. Its purely theatre. So to fear it you'd have to be a bit special.

  • @BigskinPhil I've nothing against that and i'm glad they're proud of their heritage. What i have a problem with is the perception the rest of the rugby playing world has to stand there and like it. I don't. I'm not Maori. They want to dance, do it elsewhere. There's no place for throat slitting gestures on a football pitch and because of this incident the IRB actually make the opposition stand still while the NZ'ers do there best to intimidate them. Christ you'd swear they invented the game.

  • @corny165 As a Maori and a New Zealander damn it we perform a haka before every challenge in life and death. We do not ask you to stand there you can run you can hide leave the field or whatever. But we need to do to lay down the challenge But if you wish to hold our respect then accept the challenge.

  • @hakaboy6924 Your arrogance knows no bounds. I don't give a fuck about your culture or your mana and nor should I. You seem to think you have a god given right to hijack a sporting event, perform your sideshow and the rest of the world should just accept it because 'its part of your culture'. Thats fuckin bullshit. The Haka in its present guise is little more than a PR stunt to rope the impressionable in. 30 years ago no one gave a fuck. NZ'ers performed it, shambolically, for the crowd.

  • @corny165 We hijack nothing we perform it in private and in public we do it for ourselves and no one else. As for the rest of your comment your racism knows no bounds and warrants no response from me.

  • @hakaboy6924 You do hijack rugby internationals. There is a set protocol in place from the IRB that says when the haka should be performed, where the opposition should stand etc. Sure the NZ'ers threw a tantrum a while back because the Welsh wanted them to do it before the anthems. No, no, no our Haka takes pride of place was the message loud and clear even though the game was in Cardiff. Thats hijacking to me. Don't know what you found racist either. I speak the truth.

  • @hakaboy6924 And just another thing. "we do it for ourselves". What a load of bollox.

  • @corny165 YIKES! Are you angry because you didn't make it through to the auditions for Riverdance?

  • @BloodyMaori Thats really that funny or offensive. Work on it.

  • @corny165 Offensive enough for you to respond?

  • @BloodyMaori Not really no. Typing a few words of advice is hardly an imposition.

  • @corny165 Is your typing or advising people useful? Some of your earlier comments suggest otherwise.

  • @corny165 look you dont know shit the haka is a war dance wen u step out on that feild ur fucken going to war whether u like it or not.that is a battlefeild and the players are soliders..idiot u dont know so dont open ur mouth hence why we are the best in the world at it. cause we share the love and the passion for our country.maori or not where are you from aus/england if you are then go fuck urself.

  • Comment removed

  • @BigskinPhil You have no idea what it symbolises obviously. It's a mark of respect to do it and it's a challenge. The throat slitting is a gesture of the challenge. It's part of history and it's just like standing still for the National anthem.

  • @corny165 They don't have to like it, we expect them to respect something that is important to our country. If you were out there in front of 22 men doing 'shapes' i think you would be shiting yourself.

  • @kalesandri I am irish and i take it your from new zealand and mabye NZers are made of softer stuff than the irish (most likely ) cause i am 12 and wouldnt be afraid or shittin myself about men doing cultural dances .and i respect it but rugby isnt dancing

  • Comment removed

  • @htowndubcity 'cept the Irish won.

  • @jimmybob12 ireland got smashed and always will

  • @XArcane I bet you're right but at least i don't dance like a fairy. Try again.

  • @corny165 Why does New Zealand even do the haka for Ireland? We should only perform the haka to rugby countries that we respect,

When did ireland last beat New Zealand?

  • @corny165 Always with the race card....sigh.

  • @corny165 Shut you stupid idiot! You still more likely to end up on the losing team!

  • @corny165 You're so ignorant... Today, haka constitute an integral part of formal or official welcome ceremonies for distinguished visitors or foreign dignitaries, serving to impart a sense of the importance of the occasion.

Get a clue before you talk that kind of rubbish...

  • @drphoenix69 Yeah i'm aware of that thanks. You're the one talking shite if you think throat slitting gestures are done to mark the occasion. The Nz'ers do it gain an advantage.

  • @corny165 "Pansies"? You couldn't take on any of those guys. It's a challenge from them and if you were to warm up during the haka you'd be more of a pansy. Idiot.

  • @scindian23 Why challenge anyone? The game is already arranged. Its not like the players need to be reminded they're in for a game. You say the same shite every NZ'er says but what if i don't give a fuck about you, your country or your challenge? You talk as if i should care or should give it pride of place. Thats breathtaking arrogance in my book pal. You want to dance, then fine, but do it in your own time. Certainly the IRB shouldn't make other teams endure this sideshow.

  • @corny165 It's not that. We are challenging the team cause we respect them. You walk away or do what the irish did, you don't deserve our respect. You are ignorant by saying that everyone should just walk away. Go suck a fat one.

  • @scindian23 Serious question and one which i'd challenge you or any other NZ'er to answer honestly. What gives you the right, as just another rugby playing nation, to say stand there and don't move while we challenge you?

  • @corny165 get a life faggot after 8 months for your top thumbed comments...you still replying. Sad cunt, don't like it? don't watch. Your bitching on internet wouldn't change shit.

  • @jessciaalba Just responding to comments aimed at me fuck face. Just like you it seems. You don't like it ........ ah just do one you Aussie prick.

  • @corny165 Just another rugby playing nation? NZ and the All Blacks are the only team to have a winning record against EVERY nation they have played! With a winning average of around 80% of their games and dominated the IRB world rankings over the last ten years I would hardly say that they are JUST ANOTHER RUGBY TEAM

  • @fanta14man Well what would you call them then? You think that because they've a good team they can shit on the rest of the rugby world or worse again the rest of us should show reverence? The English invented the game btw.

  • @corny165 Did England invent?? ah.. who knew!! :P

  • @corny165 Also, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga also do one before the game? Do you hate on them?

  • @fanta14man I noticed the way you side stepped the question. Anyway i won't so no i don't hate Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, the Cook Islands or New Zealand. I do completely disagree with the dancing custom before games though.

  • @corny165 whoa don't go calling other people doing a cultural dance of their nation a bunch of pansies, they do it as sign of respect to their opponents. I don't mind them challenging the haka it makes the game exciting, just don't go calling people who rep their nations pansies for doing their traditional dance.

  • The commentator pissed me off whilst watching this. The haka is an aggressive challenge, for all those saying teams should be gracious when the haka, it's performed is complete bull. I'm surprised more teams don't rise to meet it, it is after all a threat.

  • that commentator is a complete handicap, the haka is great, but so is challenging it. that commentator probably got bullied at school.

  • Trust the Irish to do this hahaha.... :-)

Never fail to amaze me legends...

  • u cant beat the irish ... always up for a good ol fight.... well done boys..

  • Whats wrong with those stupid commentators the haka is a challenge, you accept the challenge and that's somehow 'ungracious'

  • haha' it seems like the teams that want to confront or stand up to the haka tend to lose the match .. for example the rugby league world cup final .. need i say more ? . good on the teams that want to front up to the haka .. but they should do it IF they have the goods to back them up in the game .. no point fronting up when they're gonna get opened up like a can of whoop ass ..

  • nice work Ireland, very brave.

    What was the score again???

  • there is no disrecpt there, if you are going to give out a challenge at some point someone is going to stand up to u and accept it. i have faced a haka and there is like that to get u goin

  • immature and disrespectful by the irish kids. Standing your ground is one thing, however, advancing AND crossing the halfway line just to get in the kiwis faces during the haka is wankstick behaviour. Hope they got some heads smacked in for that shit.

  • ur embarasing sort ur life out

  • @matt5912 The ONLY reason their doing the haka is to put forward a challange. You hardly expect people to just stand their like bitches and take it. Its in our blood as irishmen to put forward a challenge.

  • joeydudester is quite right. Every other comment on here is just needless & stupid.

  • nice to see the irish get in their faces, from a welshman

  • @valleylad12345 Abit bitter over a 58 year losing streak are we?

  • @TheMorsey007 not bitter, just happy to see new zealand get tested.

  • wel done the irish

  • better luck next year u greeks...;)

  • fool hardy irish, lost 65-10 ahh always next year haha

  • @hanros98 no hanros u only think yous beat us 65-10...we really beat yous 65-10 lol....better luck next year ;) ha

  • @Leevancleff " yous" what is that. keep on dreaming

  • lol, they went and lost 65-10 after that...dont mess with the blacks u arrogant irish pricks

  • @stewart6000000 hardly arrogance? just cuz they wernt afraid of yer little gay dance. gman stewart.

  • go ireland..be staunch stand tall...how much did baby blacks win by anyhow?

  • Comment removed

  • I dont agree that it is just ireland accepting and standing up to the haka. Teams accept it in there own way. See the french and the aussies seem to amp up as the haka is performed to them and if you see chebal when the haka is performed he just looks like a caged dog ready to smash someone

  • Maybe a harsh word... I was full as an egg when I wrote that... but it was all in good nature for Ireland to do that... gave the fans a bit of an up roar which i think is good!

  • Nice way to accept the challenge of the Haka. If only we competed so well AFTER the whistle lol. Was anyone else laughing at the officials getting sandwiched?

  • @OpinionatedBriton .... Your a brit,,,, and opinionated... i think your opinions are quite pathetic really! The accepted the challenge! Nuff said

  • I dont no if anyones noticed but ireland is the only team to stand them nz lads up so

  • disrespect? The haka is a chalange and Ireland were accepting that chalange with one of their own..... hahahah it was like the old irish chalange with mick

  • ya its unreal like!

  • Comment removed

  • the irish fellas name who got pushed was david o callaghan he's from mi town iv played with him:)

  • I love atmosphere he made by squaring up to the NZ player :D

  • Shot Zacccy for pushing the Irish guy

  • nope it was 17-0 to NZ but a very close game. A few contraversial decisions went against ireland.

Closest game NZ have had in a few years.

  • nothing wrong with challenging the haka, it's great to see.

but you gotta back it up with good rugby though... i'm guessing ireland got smashed?

  • Nothing disrespectful from the Irish here. This is what the haka challenge is all about.Teams that are willing to meet our NewZealand culture head on are juz fukkn awesome in our eyes.

  • Disrespectful? The haka is a challenge, why should only one team get to intimidate the other....

I think it shows respect meeting them head on, instead of waiting looking bored, it shows you know what they're doing and answering the challenge.

  • We should do a river dance up to them lol, nothing wrong with it, Newzealand should be getting themselves up for the match in the dressing room like everyone else does. They shouldnt get special treatment or everyone else should do something at the same time- one or the other. These comentators give me the shits with their bitch slapped comments.

  • do a river dance then?

How is doing a haka special treatment? I didnt know it aided us in scoring more points or anything?

  • It gives a good warm up and puts the other team in the position of waiting for them to finish their dancing. All mind games

  • it is special treatment? doesnt help or anything, doesnt mean its not special treatment.

and im irish and i still think this was stupid, infact two of them are on my team. lol

  • @B2KIrishk9 get over it, you country sucks at rugby

  • I think that was great from the Irish lads, its a challenge from the new zealand team and they stood up to them. I'd love to see england do this

  • except england is too pussy

  • At least the Irish lads were brave and willing to stand up to this challenge and they lost narrowly but they will beat them when they meet again!!what were the refs like stepping in?!they have no right to do that and i now they don't - the team opposing the haka has every right to stand its ground to the challenge and make its way forward!!

  • i was at this game, nz were lucky, their first try was a double movement and ireland had a try disallowed in the second half and were held up twice more.

  • hahaha.

    Ireland is our future colony.

    They study English.

  • Dont even joke.......

  • disrespectful...bullshit, completely approiate !!

  • @SparklesBarkles Ha, you make me laugh... as everyone else on this says... they accepted the challenge... Ireland are the ONLY country ever to do it, and i think that shows balls!!!

  • lol hu cares ireland shud no if there at top level ur not actually supposed to cross the halfway line during and pre match ritual such as the haka new zealand had every right to smack them and it all wudve bin legal

  • The haka is supposed to be a challenge, thats exactly the way teams should react to it

  • the kama te is a challenge and in this case yes its fine, we were stupid. the kapo o pango is not though and is offensive

  • 'Ka_Mate'

  • @liltank90 legal to smack them. ur a bit of a dope are ya??

  • Looks like the Samoan U/20, not NZ. What a joke.

  • They challenged the haka, big deal, they still got their asses kicked

  • Ireland were actually the closest team to New Zealand in this tournament. New Zealand only got their 2 tries when Ireland was a Man down.

  • Numbers dont matter, my team were 2 men down and we scored two tries and won three opposing scrums against a team.....They just got straight whooped

  • Nope, numbers mean everthing at the top level. There should always be a man defending his opposite number. They only got their two tries when Ireland were a man down.

  • Numbers dont mean anythingn the biggest example you can get from this is Jonah Lomu ive seen him run through and bump off at least 6 people, you jaust have to be a smart player

  • Bullshit mate, it's not a coincidence that 90% of the time the defending team is a man down they'll concede a try if the opposition is of the same standard. And you can't back up your point with Jonah Lomu he's one of the greatest players of all time.

  • Trust me its all about tackling, if one person drops off from the scrum its pretty much even isnt it, it doesnt take a genious to figure that out...

  • very good, as a kiwi Im proud the irish took the challenge....that's the whole idea. Kia kaha.

  • Ireland did pretty well here actually, they conceded the two tries when they had a player sin binned and they were the least amont of points NZ had put ona team in three years apparently.

  • yea boi hawkes bay right up there zacy dawg the man and trent wikapiri stil got it brada. frae leads it beta though

  • Excellent work standing up to the Haka challenge being issued (and that's perfectly acceptable for any of you doubters, they just shouldn't have crossed halfway). The 17-0 that happened after this probably wasn't as good though.

  • Thats brilliant!

  • Well, if they wanted to the Irish could do their fierce River dancing to scare the All Blacks. The English could do that frightening Morris dancing in retaliation. I would pay good money to see that!!!

  • where was your haka when the english were printing the union jack all over your national flag?

  • we were out eating your white people, and you still tatse like shit. Your "union jack" was being slaughtered half of the time even when you outnumbered us 50 to 1

  • im glad you find cannabilism normal. 50 to 1? isn't that sheep you're referring to? if you're going to speak the queen's english, learn how to spell "taste"

  • Have you ever heard of something called a typo you dumbshit. Whats with this sheep crap, your countries filled with useles rugby and league players but we dont say you screw them. 50 to 1 is correct i didnt stutter, you white ass wipes had fricken cannons and we had sticks and most of you still were slaughtered

  • "we had sticks" lol. anyway, i'm done here. good luck.

  • I didnt stutter, you had the technology to take over the world and you still got owned by what you thought was a bunch cannibal retards weilding tree branches, im done here good luck...

  • @1983honey Your use of punctuation requires attention. You fail.

  • I'll be honest i think your a prick for saying, but that doesn't stop you from being a funny prick

  • @1983honey We have our own flag. You fail.

  • @BloodyMaori 2 separate comments within a minute.? you winnnnnnn!

  • @1983honey Agreed.

  • ireland crossing half way is just like samoa or another island team expressing themselves before a game.

  • mean haka!! go hard zac!!

  • they were rite 2 they threw a challenge down we accepted it should have done a little celtic war dance ha remeber wat o'driscoll did he looked it up and took the youngest player to the front wit him and threw a bit of grass in the air the new zealanders cant take som1 standing up to them

  • mate... as a nzlander i love it wen teams challenge the haka but wen they cross half way (n cant bak it up) its disrespectful, yea its rugby and u wanna be in the oppositions half. We can take som1 standing up to us.. we punish every team that cross the line. I'm going to to predict that u'll say france beat us in the world cup.. they had respect and stayed behind half way and ali williams head gear. Al about respecting culture. Look at the results wen nations lose respect.

  • If you nzlanders like teams standing up to the haka, but don't like them crossing the halfway line, then the obvious thing for you guys to do would be to do the haka on the halfway line.

  • respect seems to be quite a fluid concept for some kiwis. on the one hand it is good to stand up to the haka but on the other its not? when the all blacks played Wales (at WALES's home stadium) ma'a nonu had a hissy fit because Wales stood and stared them out!! it was Wales's stadium they can do what they like!!!

the haka is an incredible piece of tradition but to insist on doing it after the anthems when you are playing away from home is not respectful at all! just seems hypocritical

  • i accept wat u say but generally wen ppl anwser the haka challenge the new zealanders find it disrespectful and play dirty i.e o'driscoll getting speared the only thing i dont like is that we have 2 anthems because its an all ireland team we have irelands call and ahran na fiann wer not allowed play ahran na fiann yet ur allowed do the haka so theres got to be give and take

  • Ka Mate haka is a celebration of life, not a war dance..

  • then why has NZ opted for the haka that ends with the slashing of the the throat? not every time but more than not towards northern hemisphere teams. F*ck the haka. you're not the best at rugby. didn't france beat you AGAIN last week???

  • that wont motivate your side a song.. standing to our ka mate is far better

  • um who said you cant stand up to the haka?...why do people still think this?

  • you can.. but if your from the u.k dont coz youll lose

  • you have a lot to learn cos youre still young. Learn the traditional meaning of the haka and youll see that is perfectly fine for the opposition to lay their challenge to the haka....not because it 'looks' more threatening and louder. This is the reason most rugby nations hate us because some of you guys paint a different pictures as to what the haka means and in regard to the opposition

  • all im saying is you can do it, but itll phyc us up even
