You're not understanding the nature of gentrification. This is an oversimplification, satire really. Gentrification is a macro-level event that affects an entire neighborhood over the course of years, even a decade or so. One person and his friends can't stop people from selling their homes or forcing their tenants out. One person can't stop people from buying and renting in a neighborhood. One person can't change zoning laws.

But you guys forgot to mention that alot of the poor people will never move out because of section 8 and poor people housing programs where the government or city pays there rent for them. It's going on right now all over NYC. Places like williamsburg you have people paying $200 for a 2 bedroom and dont speak english or work or clean and next door a white couple from montana paying $2600 for the same 2 bedroom. mostly dominican and puerto rican families .
