I really love that you've retold the story instead of word by word from the books as well as Jake continuing the narration. And the graphics were awesome! I'm so happy to have found this! I've been an Animorph fan since middle school and I'm 26 now and I'm still a big fan!!!

This is way better than the TV show. The morphing isn't right, but given how KA described it... it would be next to impossible to reproduce. And yes, the andalite wasn't perfect, but it was still really good. Better graphics than the TV show XD And WAAAY better acting. I wanna see more!

Yeah I read all the books sometimes we change stories a little while filming to make it easier and in budget, if you dont like it please tell me some more. It's for annoying kids like you I dont upload the whole thing. Plus Tobias was the first to openly morph in front of Jake. He doesnt morph turantula, but does cat, go read it. It never confirms that Jake morphs first, because he doesnt go back and read it yourself.
@generalzeldar sorry for necro, but your both half right.. in the book it is noted that tobias is the first to comment on morphin into his cat when he goes to jakes, and in the TV show its jake who randomly has homer with him... but it also notes that cassie has been morphing all day when she comes out of horse morph. so its a coin flip between Tobs cat morph in the night, and/or when cassie started hers =]

OMG. You're morphing was AWESOME! And, despite the age differences and shoe-string budget, this was 1000 times better than the TV show!;-) I can see the exact same scenes and almost the same dialogue, working perfectly in a higher budget film. Plus, you made a great Jake - you've missed your calling! Oh well, you should do an ANIMORPHS "aftermath", with all of the characters (grown-up) talking about post-war stuff at the barn or something (Rachel included!!). LOVED this!
Ha yeah, we redid the voices for the final draft. We edited all in like 2 hours. And the shake was on purpose for the effect, we did a camera wiggle on after effects.

Tobias was blond in the book. It's the TV series that got in wrong. The only reason Tobias had brown hair on the book cover was because the model dyed his hair from blonde to brown before he posed for the picture.

Great video. All the actors really looked the part and did a really good job of acting as well. I know it's usually difficult to find a group of people that are willing to work together and it looks like you did a really good job on that.:)

ha ha thanks, most of the "youtubers" know me as Adam. And this was an experiment movie to see what sorts of special effects I can do. I'll try to post some good ones soon.
Not nitch-picking or anything, but if you want to get rid of the "pfft" sounds in the dialogue, get a coat-hanger and place panty-hose over it then speak through it.
Its called a 'pop-filter' and helps to make the sound clearer. Hopefully you know what I mean, if not, just ask.
Great vid! I can see you put lots of effort into it.
A few things you might like to think about though: Try not to narate too much. It feels like the story is being told to us, not shown. And there were some lighting/framing issues in some shots, like when Tobias was against the lit window.
The visuals for when he morphs into Dude were really good though :D Also don't be afraid to deviate from the book's script. When you adapt, you have some creative license to change how things are said
lol, yeah, I didnt intend for that to be used more than once. but I gave him so little animation that he kinda had no choice. I think I redid that shot so he doesn't do it anymore. or at least its more toned down now so its not as distracting.

Oh my gosh, this is really cool. For a fan of the TV series and then a reader of the books, what you've done is amazing. I don't know how everybody here could be so critical of someone who did a really good job with no money. They act as if you have a million dollars. I really like all of you guys as actors. I dont know how many episodes you're planning to make, but to make this consistent with the books you have to have Elfangor call Tobias by his name. (I dont want to spoil it for anyone, but if you've read The Andalite Chronicles you'll know why.)

Somewhat. My biggest problem with the entire thing was the running from the ship. They didn't, in the books. and Tobias was far from reluctant or frightened, and even if they had managed to run, Tobias wouldn't have been the first to break for it.

Why is Tobias made out to be such a chicken? Also, they were supposed to stay and watch Elfangor die. It doesn't really make sense that Jake would know that he died if they ran home before it happened. That's all I'm saying.
Didn't you read the books? Tobias WAS a chicken in the 1st book. He was shy and not very confident. It wasn't until later, after he got trapped in a halk's body, that he became confident and grew a set of balls.
something that bothered me (and I know another guy did animations for this) was that the Andalites are supposed to have three horizontal slits instead of a mouth, not a vagina-snout! The other problem, in my opinion, is the youngness of Elfangor's voice. Besides that, this is pretty good. I want to see the whole thing, and hopefully it came out well!

Rachel was too short and Cassie too tall (so maybe get Rachel some 10 inch heels ;) ), but I'm just really impressed you got this together! Was cracking up when those guys in the arcade were walking around in circles. After Tobias' morph I'm guessing you guys aren't using morphing suits, huh? keep up the good work!

Yes, it gives him an independent look,and a menacing feel, we in turn makes it easy for the viewers to ditinguish from the other andalites, it's sort of like his trade mark.
Question: what model camera did you use to film this? The quality came out rather well for a camcorder, and I'd like to get into film myself.
For being an amateur version, this is really decent. It's been almost 6 months since this was posted....I'm guessing it's safe to assume we won't be seeing a part 2?
The Camra was a panasonic, Mini DV camcorder, . . . I believe the model has been discontinued? Any way it is broken now so I can't film until I come up with another camera.
And yes there is a part to we allready got done filming it, I just need to edit it. Anyway I was concentrating on playing b-ball for my high school team and getting good grades, I don't know when I will get aroung to posting it?

Those were actually really great effects for just doing them on your own. I'm kind of in awe.

I have some HUGE issues with the Andalites. =/
Elfangor is missing his ears. And Visser 3 isn't tan. Yeah, I guess he's older, so he should be a tannish-blue, but not outright TAN.
Other then that and the acting, it's very well made.

Great vid! I can see you put lots of effort into it.
A few things you might like to think about though: Try not to narate too much. It feels like the story is being told to us, not shown. And there were some lighting/framing issues in some shots, like when Tobias was against the lit window.
The visuals for when he morphs into Dude were really good though :D Also don't be afraid to deviate from the book's script. When you adapt, you have some creative license to change how things are said

lol, yeah, I didnt intend for that to be used more than once. but I gave him so little animation that he kinda had no choice. I think I redid that shot so he doesn't do it anymore. or at least its more toned down now so its not as distracting.

We actually filmed it in Salt Lake City Utah. Some of my movies were filmed in Idaho and Arizona though.

Oh my gosh, this is really cool. For a fan of the TV series and then a reader of the books, what you've done is amazing. I don't know how everybody here could be so critical of someone who did a really good job with no money. They act as if you have a million dollars. I really like all of you guys as actors. You're really good.

I dont know how many episodes you're planning to make, but to make this consistent with the books you have to have Elfangor call Tobias by his name. (I dont want to spoil it for anyone, but if you've read The Andalite Chronicles you'll know why.)

good but 3 things, #1 I think its pronounced more like Tobeeus, but I never saw the shows so I may be wrong, But I have Read all the books (and yes I know how its spelled)#2,Cassie's hair is supposed to be curly and Rachel should be taller, but I can imagine hod difficult it would be to find matching actors, but Cassie's hair could definitely be fixed.other than some script and appearance problems, Awesome job and I can't wait to see how this turns out. :) lol my fingers hurt now

Somewhat. My biggest problem with the entire thing was the running from the ship. They didn't, in the books. and Tobias was far from reluctant or frightened, and even if they had managed to run, Tobias wouldn't have been the first to break for it.

Well it's not that bad. Actually you made a really good job. The choice for Marco was really fitting. But Rachel should've been much taller. Yeah but it's good for a fan-film. The acting is quite as good as the real tv series :p

Why is Tobias made out to be such a chicken? Also, they were supposed to stay and watch Elfangor die. It doesn't really make sense that Jake would know that he died if they ran home before it happened. That's all I'm saying.

Didn't you read the books? Tobias WAS a chicken in the 1st book. He was shy and not very confident. It wasn't until later, after he got trapped in a halk's body, that he became confident and grew a set of balls.

seems alright
something that bothered me (and I know another guy did animations for this) was that the Andalites are supposed to have three horizontal slits instead of a mouth, not a vagina-snout! The other problem, in my opinion, is the youngness of Elfangor's voice. Besides that, this is pretty good. I want to see the whole thing, and hopefully it came out well!

haha this was hilarious! you changed tobias' personality a bit too much. Rachel was too short and Cassie too tall (so maybe get Rachel some 10 inch heels ;) ), but I'm just really impressed you got this together! Was cracking up when those guys in the arcade were walking around in circles. After Tobias' morph I'm guessing you guys aren't using morphing suits, huh? keep up the good work!

Yes, it gives him an independent look,and a menacing feel, we in turn makes it easy for the viewers to ditinguish from the other andalites, it's sort of like his trade mark.

Question: what model camera did you use to film this? The quality came out rather well for a camcorder, and I'd like to get into film myself.
For being an amateur version, this is really decent. It's been almost 6 months since this was posted....I'm guessing it's safe to assume we won't be seeing a part 2?

The Camra was a panasonic, Mini DV camcorder, . . . I believe the model has been discontinued? Any way it is broken now so I can't film until I come up with another camera.
And yes there is a part to we allready got done filming it, I just need to edit it. Anyway I was concentrating on playing b-ball for my high school team and getting good grades, I don't know when I will get aroung to posting it?
