It's very sad to see all the GM's New Look buses and the GM and MCI classics disappear after serving at least 20 years or more on the service...:( Both the Fishbowls and the Classics are my favorite...
The last 2 ex-STM units (2611 and 2615) were seen at Arrow Garage's deadline on November 22, 2006. I presume that these buses have already met their fate.
Well, supposedly it's very hard to recycle a New Look, or most any bus for that matter, because of how solid their frames and body are built, so in the most part, they are sent away to a field somewhere in the countryside where they become part of the scenery. Hundreds of Montreal's retired buses have been sent to a town east of Quebec City and remain there. Some have been retired there for over 30 years. (Good place to find parts for our FHTCQ fleet).

Sometimes a retired bus is stripped for usable parts before being sent off at the scrap yard.
