The spinnaker on these boats are a little different than what you might see on other cats. On the 16 the kite will actually create "lift" getting the bow higher out of the water. As a result the kite, though it will make you fly a hull, it will help make pitch-poling much more difficult. (though as this video demonstrates still entirely possible)

not so easy to control the "nose-dive-machine" HC 16 under spi, isn't it? one small wave in the wrong leeward moment and you are off :)
