I no longer own the Vagabond II. Recently, new batches of Vagabond II from what I've read on the forums are exhibiting the same problems as before (read: they were never fixed) but that they occur rarely. When I did own the Vagabond II, though, it worked flawlessly. It had absolutely no problems with more than one strobe. It just recycled slower. But a fair warning to all: we can't see if there is damage being done by loading up a Vagabond II with one or more non-PCB strobe.
Hi, thank's for sharing your test. Your BX 500 RI still working fine with Vagabond II? I saw some reports that the vagabond II cause damage 500 BX IR. Thank's.
Hey there I just bought the same kit and found your linky i now want a vagabond 2 as well but From the site: The Vagabond II is designed specifically for powering Paul C. Buff, Inc.™ products and we cannot make any claim for suitability with products from other manufacturers, nor can we accept any liability for any damage that might be caused to such equipment.
What do you think? Is it a worth it experience? how long would it last in a shoot with both strobes?
@Aeris365 To be honest, I would stay away from Vagabond II as the recent batch (dating as far back as last year) aren't as reliable as they used to be prior to that. From what I understand, Paul Buff has had to make changes as he switched factories for his inverters and the factories are (I guess) screwing up the design by skimping on parts among other things. It's a much more complicated story than that, but the bottom line is that the Vagabond II aren't what they used to be.
Have you tried it with the Vegabond Mini yet?

I'm looking at EXACTLY the same set up. Appreciate you posting this. I'm also looking at a DIY unit for faster recycling and more flashes.
