  • Fuck. I just rated this video with one star unintentionally.

    Nevermind that, eluveitie KICK ASS

  • Im an american and I believe here we have great underground american Melodic bands. But here most of the focus is on Rap, hip hop, and being cool. But if you venture to the underground you will find some good shit. and.......27this tomorrow!

  • shit ive been waiting all day for the new song to release. its not even the 27th...shit

  • me too... hope they ll keep promise.... wondrer what song will be...

  • cooool :)

  • New song tomorrow! :D

  • I cant wait to hear the recorded version of (do)minion. Live it was amazing.

  • I mean I would rather hear a really GOOD song in Spanish, Swedish, Finnish, German , or anything rather than English.

My main and native language is obviously English but I also speak Spanish, because I heard a song that got me into the language.

These guys from Rammstein sing in German, and their songs are Ok, and at the same time, people actually get interested with their music because of the lyrics and language, because it's different.

  • Can someone explain me this..

They sing in English but they don't speak it?

    I don't understand

  • @Shyuum there are a lots of bands singing english but speaking in there mothertounge :o

  • @ParkkraIle

    a lot?

Almost ALL Metal bands from Europe sing in English.

And I think you didn''t get my question, I was asking about these guys, but I already saw some interviews and they do speak English.

    Thanks for replying nonetheless.

  • their english isn't that good =)

the lyrics are thought about a lot and they know it by heart when they sing it but to just speak in english like it's there mother tongue,, it's really hard for some people,, like these guys I guess..

  • @DarthSivius

    YES

    That is what I mean!

Why does this guys sing in English If they barely know it?

I mean, who writes their lyrics?

How do they do their translation, it must be difficult to them to think in Swedish and try to write lyrics in English.

  • Guess because everyone does

and because english is a lot easier to write lyrics in than in German

They speak German (with a Swiss accent, not Swedish )

And I guess someone does the translation for them or something

    honestly, I really don't know

I've been thinking about it myself

Glanzmann's English isn't that good, and yet there are some pretty difficult words that I don't understand, I my english isn't that bad, though it's not my mother tongue :p

I really do wonder myself how they pull it off

  • @DarthSivius

    You see?

I mean, I don't know if there is actually an interview of them saying that their lyrics have a meaning or something because I don't know if they actually WRITE their songs...

Like these fags from Tokio Hotel, I know I know, they have nothing to do with this, relax, breath and keep reading, they don't know a single shit of English, though, They sing in English and I believe their record company writes their music.

What's going on with European music?

  • I think Europa still kicks America's ass xD

Sorry, I just read you live in america, and it's nothing personal, but I really dislike america :p

but off course,, like every sane mind, I hate TH

and I listen to almost only European bands, I think I have one or two american bands in my playlist :p

So I don't think their is nothing wrong with European music, but I don't really care in what language it's sang/screamed/growled

I think most artists prefer english because it's more universal than swedish

  • @DarthSivius

    I'm from England

  • OOOOOOOOOW, sorry

it said 'united kingdom (but in dutch, since that is my mother language) but I read united stats (again in dutch :p)

    SORRY :D

  • But I really like songs that are written in a foreign language, like the band Equilibrium from Germany

Their music is really epic and all their lyrics are in german,, it's really awesome :D

  • The reason why many Swiss people can't speak good English is because in Switzerland they are educated in French, German and Italian, and little English because the country has 3 official languages (English not being one of them). So it makes sense that there could be difficulties in their English but I see little issue in their lyrics.

  • It doesn't matter if their taught english in schools are not.

I was good at english even before they taught it to me in school, and yet I've been studying english for 5 years now, their are still kids in my class that don't or barely know the basics so I don't think it's relevant

  • @DarthSivius

Yes that is exactly what I mean, I actually like songs that are sang in Italian because it's different from English!

And I'm learning Italian at the moment because of that.

By the way, I forgot, America is a continent , not just a single country, It'd be better to say, " I think that Europe still kicks USA ass"

America has got great stuff , like Angra and Sepultura, both from Brazil, Agora from Mexico and so on..

  • yeah,, true,, sorry :p

but I dislike thrash so I'm not into sepultura and soulfly and cavalera conspiracy en all that xD

my favourite bands come from scandinavia

    especially sweden and finland =)

But I think the USA is a really fucked up country

so is belgium (where I live) if it comes to politics, but the usa is fucked up more xD

  • @DarthSivius

No worries friend, well yeah I don't know about the USA, but I have friends in North and South America and they all dislike their goverment but as far as the country and culture goes, they love it.

Anyways, uhm...Scandinavian bands are mostly Melodic stuff, there aren't that many good thrash metal bands from Europe though.

    Cheers

  • I don't think the USA has a lot of culture :p

and there are a lot of people there that think to much of themselves

A friend of my dad works every year at the local metal festival here, Graspop Metal Meeting, and he says thath they almost never have problems with the european bands and that most problems come from the american bands..

so yeah,, I hate people who think they're better than others

  • @DarthSivius

It seems that you really hate the USA lol

'cause I was talking about North and South America. the USA is in the north but so is Mexico and Canada...

Anyways, If you like Melometal, then you should check this guys from Susperia , I don't know if you already know them but you should give them a try ;)

  • of course it does not have a culture because it is just a european colony - it will never have its own culture or heritage - only the natives do. If americans want their heritage, they should go back to where they came from and leave the natives in peace

  • @jesterheadflame666

Uh Ok about the America thing, I was talking about ALL the continent and it's different cultures, you misunderstood my words, I don't know why people always seems to think about "America" as a country, what about Canada? and Mexico? they are both from North America.

Anyways, a great thrash metal band coming from the USA is Testament.

And uh..there are also a few good melodeath bands from the USA such as Destroy Destroy Destroy.

  • yeah, I did say 'most'...

I really like testament even though I only have the gathering (the track demonic refusal alone makes me want to get demonic - I love how testament are dark heavy thrash bordering on death metal). Voivod are of course a good Canadian one.

  • I have not really heard any american melodic death metal bands. I don't really want to - the Swedes do it so much better than anyone else and even in Sweden the scene has got old, bands have sold out...apart from Hypocrisy and Dark Tranquillity, and of course Eluveitie, there aren't many good MDM bands around...some crossover bands maybe like rotting christ and chthonic, both of whom are amazing

  • @jesterheadflame666

I agree with you, but you should listen to Destroy Destroy Destroy, they are really good..

You wouldn't even notice that they are from the USA

  • Hey! Don't forget Sabbat from England, celtic Frost from switzerland and Bathory from Sweden, and Venom I suppose but I am not a big venom fan. The former three are definitely three of the best thrash bands though. Most american thrash bands are either a) outdated b) were never that great anyway or c) are modern rip offs of bands that are still going (*cough* Trivium...)

  • well...I used to notice that, but USA is basically an empire which takes up most of north america anyway, and america derives from some Italian explorer, so suggests the European America (there is no agreed native word for it I believe), and as the north european americans were more enthusiastic in more or less completely eradicating the natives, it is arguably more of an 'America' than the south...

  • ...Sepulture were amazing though - great band, one of the best thrash bands. Soulfly can be good too - dark ages is amazing - can't take to their other albums though.

  • It's harder to speak English than write in it. And they're Swiss, not Swedish.

  • @arcanasanctum Thanks, Thanks I already got the answer for their nationality, I'm sorry.

  • They speak "Helveticangerman" ^^

  • bis zum 19.2. ists noch zu lange man °_°

  • (Do)minion I think.

  • I can't wait to hear the other songs! But the little pieces we can hear till now sounds awesome!

I think it's gonna be the best Eluveitie album!

I'm from Austria and have a very good friend in Switzerland. Ok, he don't speak in "Schwiitzerdütsch" but in "clear" german with swiss accent. Very easy to understand... even for not-germans, i think... ^^

  • My german is not the best but pretty good. but this Switzerlands german. i can't understand unless i hear it for 3 days in a row after that i can understand it but now not. i'm glad there were subtitels.

btw i can't wait for there album to come out :D

  • One thing is certain; they know how to hype their fans.

  • I'm from northern Germany it's hard to understand them. Their german sounds sick :D

  • I don't even speak german, but I watch a lot of german tv with english subs. It sounds so weird. I guess this is southern german, right?

  • yes it is :)

  • It's switzerland-german =]

  • and they speak a very strange german xD

  • no they are swiss

  • Are They Danish???

  • For all the fans the album wont be available for preorder until next month. This is a guess of course because the US doesn't get the album until March.

  • The music reminds me on the slania ^^

Elu ihr sats de bestn. I hoff ihr kemts bald wieder mal nach Linz

  • I think its pretty dangerous, releasing every year since they´ve been on NB a album.

  • I know what you mean. But it does show their devotion to their fans, in a way. Most bands take about 3-4 years nowadays to release an album. These guys never quit.

Can't wait for this album. After their very soft, authentic folk music, it's about time they release something heavy as hell.

  • @ThoseDamnBastards I love it when bands mix folk stuff with metal like eluveitie does

  • yea man, they make an album a year, i love it :D

this album's gonna be sick, i've every album from them so far (even their acoustic one, i thought it was brilliant!) i have no doubts this album will be amazing

  • Can´t wait! Time, go faster!

  • Eluveitie is amazing!

I'LL BE SEEING YOU GUYS MARCH 7TH AT THE PAGANFEST IN THE 013, TILBURG, THE NETHERLANDS!!! I ALREADY GOT MY TICKET YAY

  • schwiizer dütsch!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Can't wait! :D

  • One can see at 2:38 that the drummer records with Roland TD-20 electronic drums - not acoustic drums!

  • @TommyLongstockings: Haha, okay! But those were not the drums we did record with. That sequence you see @ 2:38 was filmed in the Devils Studios Vaduz, where we recorded Hurdygurdy and Fiddles. The Roldand-drumkit just belongs to the studio, we didn't use that one.

The drums were recorded in the Newsound Studios (CH)... and of course we used acoustic drums! :)

In the next album trailer we'll post you'll see a bit more about the drum recordings then. ;)

    Cheers

    Eluveitie

  • Damn! For a moment there I thought Roland drums were on the rise:-)

  • epic album on the way =O
