Lotus sutra original in sanskrit. Later translate from sanskrit to chinese by number of translators. In this gongyo, we are using translation from Kumarajiva.

@GoddessOFUnity It's like reciting a poem and flows a lot better than it would in english. Also, since translations can differ this is a good way that you know you're reciting the proper text.

@GoddessOFUnity The Lotus Sutra teaches:

1. The Buddha teaches to ppls capacity. The Lotus Sutra is the final teaching.

2. The Buddha did not become enlightened under the Bodhi tree but actually in the remote past. As such the Buddha's life exists eternally and when he's needed to teach the law he appears in this world.

3. He is entrusting the teaching of the Lotus Sutra to the Bodhisattvas of the Earth led by and Bodhisattva Jogyo (Superior Practices) to continue propogation.
