  • Absolutely great!

  • Steve looks so young there :(

  • Macintosh 1984 > Windows 7

  • This item, like all Apple products was just too expensive at the time for the average consumer; and therefore it failed (But the Superbowl commercial was cool).

Windows came out soon after, and still dominates office buildings worldwide today.... 27 years later....

  • Steve Jobs was a visionary man and a genius! Requiem in Pacem

  • Steve Jobs was a visionary man and genius! Requiem in Pacem

  • RIP M. Jobs

  • R.I.P.

  • RIP Steve

  • Thank you Steve, for so many things, but esentially for making us believe that other way to live is possible. I will miss you so much.

  • RIP Mr. Jobs. You will never be forgotten.

  • 8 Macintosh's never got taken out of their bag...

  • 8 people have no lives or can't afford a computer at home =).... or they're upset they bought a PC and are trying to get over it! =)

  • just imagine how the audience would have freaked out if they would have showen them an imac 27 inch with snow leopard on it 0_0 (sorry for my english)

  • reminds me of some kind of an old movie :D

  • wtf they still had in 1984 screaming guys at keynotes?

  • @Caterpillar86 You should watch The Pirates of the Silicon Valley. A good docudrama about the history of Apple and Microsoft. Then go and watch some keynotes (old and new) by Jobs. The man is a legend.

  • 1:50

  • lol they were so excited about this back then because it was so advanced and now you can get something even more powerful in your phone.

  • @punchmaster123 captain obvious!

  • What a revolution!!!!

  • wow !!!!

  • lolololololol

  • BOOM!

  • omg! haha he had hair!!!!! hahahahha

  • omg I have never seen them all so happy before lol

  • Ah if only they knew computer would be 300,000,000 times faster in the future. Whats does that mean for us though? 0_o

  • Think 23 years from now. 2032.

Can you imagine what technology will look like?

    It's the same thing.

  • I like when its like "Good to be out of that bag"

  • Amazing .. .23 years ago, Apple was so far ahead of it time. I too am now replying to this vid on a Leopard run macbook .. amazing

  • i dont know how far the technology was in 1984 and if this is something new but steve jobs looks so happy at the end that i thing its something real great

  • Mainframes were in many large corporations through IBM's efforts, and Wang, but no one had a handle on the public market because systems were titanically large and incredibly expensive. Apple made a powerful, yet small, "personal computer" that everyone could afford and have in there home. This was an incredible achievement and feat.

  • @Steveg20001

unfortunately, apple didn't really make it that affordable. Then Microsoft came along....

  • cool whats th name of the song ?

  • The music's name is "Chariots of Fire" from Vangelis. It's the main theme from the film wih the same name, a success at its time.

  • What's the name of that song?

  • Chariots of Fire.

  • 23 years later...

I am writing this comment on a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, Geforce 8600GTS, 2 GB RAM, dual-23" LCD monitors.

  • Yeah, and millions more colors too!

  • ..... using a font, no doubt, that the Original Macintosh used and introduced to the computing world! - It's easy - no Mac - no fonts.

  • Que momento!!! vean si la manzanita vanidosa sobrevive en mis videos jajaj

  • I like how everybody gets so excited when he takes out the floppy.

  • Is the first time that a computer of this kind have a dispositive of that kind.

  • lol i still have my dads

  • Now that was a great moment in history. Thanks faqmac for posting this up!! Without that tiny little box...computers for the general public would never have lifted off.

  • lol macintosh sucks so much balls all that is a box with some dog shit in it

  • J'en ai un pareil chez moi! Bah c'est sûr qu'il que je l'utilise pas, mais il marche super bien.

  • wow! to have actually have been there on that night must have been amazing!

  • would you believe seeing this again actually brought tears of nostalgic joy to my eyes? -mk

  • Cue the cheesy inspirational music!

  • That was actually pretty cool. Even though I use a pc, its only because thats what I have here. I dont really care for either company, since I know how to repair and use both. But I dont like Bill Gates, ever since the day he quit IBM, and took the ideas to build microsoft with it.

  • notice how that is the same voice as microsoft sam XD even tho i am a pc user thats some nice stealing there bill gates

  • still got my one of those :) doesnt do anything; but it was my first computer

  • my dad bought that 20 years ago, and it's now in my home - still working, though we don't use it anymore. It's great to have the FIRST great computer in my home.

  • wow compered to the new imacs the old ones look like shit

  • hee hee looks like Pee Wee !!

  • Steve Jobs looked like Tucker Carlson

  • Hey is that the Toronto Metro Convention Centre?

  • I always cry a bit when I see this video, I can't help it. Just watch him, he is so happy that he has to hold back to keep himself from crying. And the crowd is giving him a standing ovation! This technology back then was like if someone had created a perfectly humanoid robot today that could think, speak and act just like us.

  • pioneer...

    salut

  • Oh how far we've come.

  • WHOAH A FLOPPY!!! HOLY MOLY SCROLLING LETTERS!!! WOW PICTURES!!! IT TALKS OH MY GOD!!!

    The fun of old technology...

  • Oh how far we've come.

  • With all the domestic spying I feel we've come too far sometimes.
