Thanks so much for posting this great footage. I'm restoring a 57 Chevy and it's great to see how much work went into these classics. Makes you appreciate the cars from the inside out.
Thanks for putting this out there!!! Extraordinary video! Love the clay mock-up of the 1955 Pontiac starting at about 7:00 in. And to think they did this all without computers or calculators! Ride on Fisher Body! Back in the day, GM didn't worry about keeping up with the Joneses. GM was the Joneses.
I have a 1955 Belair 2 Dr hardtop . I have owned the car for 25 years. This video is so wonderful. I am able to see how my car was made. Wow thank you so much for posting this.

I know, well I wasn't alive 25 years ago but I understand. It makes me feel so cozy to know that our cars are made so well. It just makes me feel so, well, I cuddle up with my blanket while I watch this. It's so good cause Obama will change GM to his standards now and that will be better than this old stuff. He doesn't care about the old past. Obama will bring great change to all American industry. I love Obama and will always feel great to do anything he says because he knows best. : D
I remember my dad being a part of this America. Can someone tell me - was the 1977 Cultass body from Fisher plant 21?

Fascinating, how much work goes into the tooling the dies to make a car. Makes me want to go out and restore a 50s machine.
