i got the at 2035 hooked to my preamp interface and the damn thing wont work at all i did everything i fucking can is it becuase god hates me or the fucking thing wont work do i need a damn mixer im so sorry i just need the help badddd!!!!!
I have a microphone that I want to use to record a conference table conversation with a couple other people. Now when I try to direct record into my PC laptop, it comes out way to low in volume. Will this boost the signal to a much higher level? Is this the same as what phantom power does? I'm recording interviews where I just want to set a condenser mike down on the table about 4feet away, not hold it close to my mouth. Thank you.
OK i just got this but when i installed the live lite 6 software the lessons folder was empty. has anyone else had this problem? is there a way to download the lessons or something. i don't really know what i'n doing at all i'm new to this recording stuff
@crazykinoflongboards I actually did get one and it did not supply enough phantom power for my microphone for whatever reason. So i sent it back and got it replaced and the new one did the same thing. I got a refund and then purchased an E-MU tracker pre and that has worked wonders.
can any one tell me why pro tools will not pick up my mobile pre. it keeps saying that the interface cannot be located but i installed the interface with out any problems
If im going out of my drum machine R & L, is the instrument input line on the front of the mobile pre "Right" and the Inst input on the back "left"? please help...
yes dude , you are right, input 1 is left and input 2 is right , it doesnt matter if you are using the fron "line/ instrument" jack, or the rear XLR , input 1 ( front or rear ) is left and input 2 ( front or rear too XD) is right :), hope that helpss
I paid 150 for this interface, plus 150 for a mic which goes to either channel in the back. IT DOES NOT RECORD STEREO!!! Does someone have an answer or solution???
man fuck i got an 1010lt and i accidently broke my cd its fuckin cracked.. dunno how that happened :D FUCK is it like cubase or some shit tho? Also I am tryin to record guitar and the 1010lt only has RCA inputs and XLR it doesnt have 1/4 stereo and I wanted to record guitar so I got this 1/4 stereo to dual RCA, and pluged it into the input channel but only 1 channel works, R or L depending on which one I plug in so that means only 1 signal is coming out of the cable i bought... how can i solve
My sax playing isn';t the topic of this video, and i'm I don't boast of being a fantastic sax player, I'm still at school and by no means is sax playing my living (yet!)
ive just ordered one, only for headphones and monitors, im a Software guy, hope its a good buy. Everyone said this was the best under £100 interface u can find
Where it sounds distorted and like it is clipping has happened in the youtube conversion process. The original file is clean, taht's nothing to do with the MobilePre
If you were going to use X-Y placement then it should be fine, the two mics can plug straigth into channels 1 and 2. If you wanted to use more mics, ie bass drum mic as well then i woudl suggest something with more channels OR buy this in conjunction with a mixer (which is what I have since done). I now have a mixer with 4 mic inputs and several line inputs which mixes down to two channels (L+R). I just then use the MobilePre as an interface between mixer and PC. Hope this helps
I plug my mic into channel one, and no matter what I do it only records or picks up for the left speaker. ame with channel 2 for the right speaker. And it really doesn't seem to be the program settings or anything. Any ideas? Please?
Love my MobilePre...starting out with a streamlined studio. Just throwing some random words to live by: Firstly, Learn how to use what you have before you even think about getting that upgrade. Then, need, not want, NEED that upgrade. In the end, it'll make you a better musician/technician/person.
hey i have a condenser mic and i connected it to this.[i'm using live lite 6.0] and i do not no how to record with my condenser mic because it doesnt show up with the audio input devices so idk if im doing something wrong? so can u help me out
just connect the condenser, turn on the phantom power assuming it requires it (check the manual), then it shoudl work the same as any other input, turn up the levels on the USB record fader on the m audio control panel in the system tray, turn up the gain on teh mobile pre, go into the preferneces on live lite and select the MobilePre as the input device then you shoudl be fine.
k i just got this and its not quite what i thought it was gonna b. when i plug my amp in, my amps volume has to be turned up so loud even with the gain on the mobile pre turned up all the way. even with everythin turned up its still not tht loud on the recording. and the more i turn up the gain the more there is like a huming or buzzing in the recording. any suggestions, what am i doing wrong?
You certainly shoulnd't have to do that, the levels always seem pretty gd, half way on the mobile pre gain was plenty for me. Is the signal out fro the amp into the mobilepre line level?
What software are u using, check levels in taht. Also, check the USB record level in the mobile pre control panel on ur pc (noramlly in the system tray).
then i cant really suggest anything else other than ring m audio, they are very helpful and will guide you step by step through what to do, there is alwasy teh possibility it is faulty but in most cases it's not.
Did you download ASIO because your settings might be on MME/DirectX which can only record one thing. I think the recording Audio lesson on Ableton gives a link to download ASIO
hey man can you help me out?av got mobile pre and whenever i try to record audio from the mic or any other input it only takes one side.mono.i need to record stereo.av tried evrythn i cn think of.plese help.
The inputs are all mono so you can only plug in a mono mic or line in. If you want stereo you have to use both inpouts. It shoudl however come out boths sides e.g. from the speakers and if it isn't it may well be something you have to adjust in the software u are using. Look in the ins and outs section of your software. It will then be sitll mono but just the same coming out of both sides.
I also have a shure mic running into a mobile preamp interface connected to a computer. How did you set your mic up? I only ask because im having problems with sound coming out of one channel. Im not to flash with this kind of thing.
I just connected my mic straight into the channel 1 XLR mic input of the preamp via XLR cable. AS it's a dynamic you don't need the phantom power on but if it's a condenser you will.
Other than that, make sure that the levels are turned up from zero at every stage i.e. : mic is on, preamp level is up, software control level for preamp is up, level is up in your recoridng software etc.
Feel free to comment back with any specific problem if this doens't work.
wow sounds pretty cool, i just bought my movilepre usb, its great for my jazz stuff, but any time i use a distortion effect it freaks out..any advice?
Are you using the distortion before inputting into the mobile pre or is it software based? I dunno why this woudl happen, i've nvere had any problens but whenever i used fx it was independent on the mobilepre and in teh software i was using.
If you could give me some more info i might be able to help. thanks for the comment
no, not software based..its an analog distortion pedal, that im lining through before the pre, my clean chanel sounds amazing, but like i said as soon as i hit the disto my sound becomes overly fuzzy and extreamly compressed, i thought maybe it was my pedal so i tried several other pedals with the same results, hope this was enough
I can't think of anything, all I can say is speak to the M Audio support. I did have to use them once and they're actually quite gd. I woudl suggest phone rather than email though.
By the way, youtube's conversion process does the quality no favours. Where the audio sounds slightly muffled, trust me it is not liek this when listening to orignal wav file.
IF requested I may be able to send the orig. file for people interested in buying the MobilePre

Thanks man but I'd rather use the X-Y placement rather that using several mics for a sound not in my taste (in my opinion)
To me, Using 2 mics gives the drums space and character.

IF you're looking for a budget inteface and only need two inputs it's very gd at it's job 9/10.
However if you want to connnect more and have great routing flexibility, I owuld recommend a mixer whihc I have since bought.
The features are vey gd for the price, especially phantom power on both channels.
