The value of commodities hasn't only increased because demand has, but heavy investment by speculaters who have driven the price of these items beyond reason. Oil can last possibly 200 more years but the problem is not with the amount in the ground, the problem is with China and India - 2 BILLION people want oil now since they have found enough wealth to buy a car now. I agree with everything your saying about China and India driving up the price. There's definately more demand but the only thing peaking is oil company profits. I think it is funny when I hear people say well there paying $7 a gallon in Europe like that makes it okay for us to be paying $4. If they drill in the wildlife reserves it should be under the condition the oil is only to be sold to americans and under a $1 a gallon.
