This video started and I thought "Oh this is that one I've seen a few times already" so I went to go click on another one- and sat entranced all the way through this one. Wish we could all see Rodenberry's vision.
it's videos like this that make me think that maybe there is a smidgen of hope for our future. That maybe one day our future generations will be out there making discoveries and seeing things that we'll never be able to see. May the lessons of star trek live on forever.
I've just spent the last 7 minutes wiping tears from my eyes. The music is sooo sweetly beautiful and the message equally so. Friendship, dignity, happiness, sorrow, all that makes up the experience of LIFE.
I think "people" from the future must have inspired Gene Roddenberry and the writers of this franchise to keep hope alive, to keep wonder alive, to inspire imagination and to inspire US to look forward to the future. (Or so I imagined watching this video.) Hey, you never know! :D
Thank you Gene, I joined the Navy 6 years ago because it was the closest I could get in this lifetime to Starfleet. I would give it all to live your dream!!! Bless you and Majel forever... Who knows, maybe your final journey through space will initiate our first contact!!!!!
You just cannot stop imagination! its the stuff that we all are made of! And the Star Trek Business, is just one of those you just cannot stop! It has sent men and women into the military, the sciences, colleges and universities to see ourselves more than just ourselves, to not be afraid to challenge and to study, wonder, discover, understand learn more and to accept what is to be. Thanks to the creator of this video. Its an excellent tribute to a powerful enterprise! and to us all!
This was a true tribute worth even Gene's praise. I've watched it several times now and it brings tears to my eyes from time to time. I do adore star trek but not because of all the science fiction hub-bub. Just because alot of what happens in star trek is what we actually could be. The good stuff that is. This song was a wonderful selection to go with these clips! Thank you from the bottom of my heart chief for this tribute.
Roundcat - we love the show, but you miss the point. Star Trek is the dream of Gene Roddenberry, the dream all Trek fans share - the dream of a better future free of discrimination, famine, war and poverty. A world where Humanity is dedicated to peace, not conquest. But it's not just a dream for us - we don't THINK it COULD be a reality, we KNOW it WILL be a reality, if we all work for it.
I agree, but it's still an ace video, i can't wait to see the one for the 45th or 50th Anniversary, it might be bassed on the two new seasons coming out after the new movie...
a good effort with great material try slowing down the transitions use the music to determine the what to showand clean up the transitions a bit still good though
stupid repost
