i always hought wizzard was a waste of woods talent.........he was best at writing pretty meolodies -- i wished he would have opursued that a little more....that said this is ok.
just when i thought i heard everything from my gen, here comes another..absoultely astonishing talent we had in the 70's. can music these days compare to so much talent and so much variety?! I trow not
I totally agree with you. I was brought up in the 70s and loved the music at the time and still do. This is one I missed too.. but I bet there are others out there too that I havent even come across yet. Today's music?.. forget it!! It aint a patch on what we had back then. Happy days!
Just too damn classy for mainstream. Fantastic rock/jazz fusion from a musical genius. I must admit, although I remember buying the single, I' ve never seen a video performance of it and so I thank you for posting it.
Amazing stuff from the multi-talented Mr. Wood. I have also never heard this track in my life before, and I was an avid Wizzard fan in the 70's. Undiluted musical genius.
Yes this was a single release, never released on Main Street album though, maybe you were thinking of Indiana Rainbow, also a single. Details below...... A/ Rattlesnake Roll (Wood) Jet
I once saw a vid of Roy performing 'Look Thru The Eyes of a Fool', off his solo Mustard album, on Supersonic I think - not seen it since though. And of course there is the long lost Wizzo band session on Sight & Sound in 1977..not seen since it was broadcast...
Thanks, yes would have been better had Roy sung lead, pic quality not brill, but better than nothing, trying to find another performance from this kind of show, with L.Pigeon on.
Wow! never seen this in all my 35 years of loving Roy Wood - thanks...it's an unacknowledged class performance and production...though why Roy gave Bob Brady the lead I don't know...Roy was the reason loved Wizzard...but then this was the beginning of the band's sharp decline...
Great Video!
I linked it in my blog for a review of Wizzard 7" German pressing "Rattlesnake Roll".
Thanks

@wehatemagz we had style, looks, music, and fun back then!

We certainly did! Best days of my life. I was 13 just as the glam era was starting and I loved every minute of it. Original music in abundance!!
