the dispatcher tried to calm the person down because it was her/his job, the ambulance was on the way but the dispatcher had to known more detailed and made sure everything was under control... I mean, I wouldn't have a clue how to behave in a situation like this, normally I'd act without thinking, doing everything to help... that what the dispatcher tried to prevent...worsening the situation... there's not much you can do in case of drug overdose.

@MyNamesToast A girl in a my speech class who is a dispatcher gave a reason for why it takes so long is because they need to get the correct information to save someone's life. Her speech really changed my mind about dispatcher. Made me have more empathy towards them because it's a difficult job.
