the signs for "but" "think" and "why" are different when my deaf cousin uses them here on the west coast. its obvious what they are, but theyre still completely different.

@ayviolinist its true thast he is using asl and that his struture is out of order but becuase this is a song interpretation its fine...there is a differnece between ASL and english SL, in english SL one would end up sign EVERY word...lyk small things suchas AND, ARE...ect.

@natdebfan1 No, that's Manual English, Manual English is the only sign language system that has a sign for every word, ASL is put in different word order than English and Signed English is when you sign the most important words, but in English word order.

It's not true interpreting unless you change it to ASL order, if you sign in true English then they might miss the English idioms. Interpreting is to have them understand what it's saying in their language

There are levels to some signs. Ones you know are probably things like beautiful, and ugly, to where you use two hands to show the severity. Same with hate. You probably use "dislike" or flick your finger, but the sign he used is the highest level of hate:)
