Just can't make myself love Grinderman. I do love NC&TBS. Their "Murder Ballads", "Boatman's Call" and "No More Shall We Part" are most beautiful. I hope Nick gets bored with Grinderman soon. It could be that he just doesn't want to get old.
@veganworld hahaha what pathetic comments they are from you and INDIANBLANKET. If you dont like it dont listen to it, dont wish for the end of a band just because you dont get it! As for the midlife crisis comment, its quality music by quality musicians regardless of any midlife crisis. Do people like this even have midlife crisis'? They are Rock 'N Rollers for f**k sake!!!
@veganworld It sounds like you like Nick's later, arguably "mellower" music. Did you ever listen to his earlier work, or the Birthday Party? This isn't too far from it.
To me, Nick sounds rejuvenated with this new band. The music has an urgency that was missing in his later Bad Seeds work - even though I love those albums too. It's all about the situation and which one you're in the mood to listen to. Maybe it's my mid-life crisis (if I live to be 104-ha!) and I like it loud and wild right now.
Warren Ellis is getting crazy sounds out of those 4 strings! That's a tenor guitar that he designed himself for Eastwood guitars. Anyone out there own one of these? I actually play rhythm guitar with an acoustic from which I removed the top and bottom E strings and so play with 4 strings tuned ADGB, normal guiatr tuning. Anyone out there doing the same thing? What's the difference between that and having a proper 'tenor' guitar' ?
coolest fuckers on the planet. period.

@veganworld I agree. Although I think they're good, it does smack a little of being a midlife crisis.
