An R20 is the next R32. Its the next Golf to get the R badging, but it will have a much different engine. It will have a 2.0 liter 4 cyl instead of the old 3.2l 6 cyl. The new engine will make around 30 more horses and it will still be AWD, so it should weigh a whole lot less than the R32, meaning it will be quicker and more agile. It should be coming somewhere next year,

My guess is it the turbo 4 will be cheaper to make faster up to a point (maybe 350-400awhp, just a guess) but past that the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder wont gain power as easily as the larger 6 cylinder and the 4's area under the curve will likely be poor by comparison. Anyone know how well the mk5 r32's automanual holds up?

I seriously doubt its 0-60 in 3.2 sec. You would have to have a 1st gear that went past 60mph. The shift alone is like .5 sec at least.

EIP's R32 was faster than HPA's....when it actually worked (which was rare). Now they're just bankrupt after lawsuits and horrible customer service.

Dahlback's custom GTI is by far the fastest around, though.
