Kudos to Verizon on picking up on the Droid phone. I phone has captured the bulk of profit for AT&T and every phone AT&T has come out with imho has botched it up. Take for instance the Tilt 2 ... why on earth for the dang DONGLE. I don't want to hook in my headset or buds to it. Sprint and Verizon didn't .. they left it alone.

I like the looks of this phone so far but need to get my hands on it 1st.

Verizon denied the iphone because they wanted a lot of the profit for the sales so at&t accepted it because it was the only phone company who was shitty enough to accept it.

its quite funny, verizon comes out with a new phone just about every year it seems and the phones get all the hype that they are going to beat the iphone, and it seems that they all have failed to do so. the iphone is the best smart phone and will still be after the droid gets released to the general public.

40,000+ apps, 95% of which are useless apps that you'll probably only use once and then forget about them. I thought Apple's philosophy emphasized quality, not quantity. I'm not trying to dis Apple. The iPhone is great, but people need to stop comparing Android and other mobile OSes to the large amount of apps on the App Store. Personally, I would rather have an App Store with hundreds of useful apps than thousands of useless apps.

I for one think it could be a worthy competitor tot he iphone if the UI doesn't feature any lag, something that has plagued every other "iphone killer" to date. The question of the design is entirely subjective, personally I kinda dig the more professional look, almost a cross between the blackberry and the iphone.

It's a smart phone and the first to use Google's Android 2.0. I guess if you're looking for it online you won't find it under "normal" phone, but rather the smartphone category. Pricing hasn't been announced yet, I'd bet on anywhere between 250 and 400 USD though. Hope that helps.

Ya real buttons is nice. People like feedback from what their touching, but it doesnt look as nice or as tough as an iphone. iphone is a lot of hype but at the same time it has a ton of supporters therefor a ton of apps. Im hoping the iphone will come out for verizon.
