@Pruefan26 I met Dean Cain (who played Clark) in 1993, back when this show was still on the air. I was six years old at the time (I'm 24 now). He is JUST as sexy in person...and very very friendly!!
Fuck Smallville, as for TV-series this is beast! :D (pssst... at least they got the suit right, with the true colors and even the yellow S mark on the back of the cape. Nothing we saw of that in Superman Returns, nor something we will se in the new Superman Man of Steel. As for best Superman actor, RIP Christopher Reeve)
I actually enjoyed the story line of Lois and Clark & how the characters interacted with each other (mainly L and C but also their coworkers at the daily planet) more than the appearance of Superman in the action scenes.
I adore the 90's and this show - my personal favorite Superman adaptation. Dean Cain is definitely the most handsome Clark ever. Teri Hatcher shines here and her haircut was epic. Also Tracy Scoggins's Cat should've been in more seasons. Very nice & entertaining series. I loved many TV shows in the 90's - this one, Acapulco H.E.A.T., The X Files, La Femme Nikita, Melrose Place, Spy Game, RoboCop The Series, L.A.Heat, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Pretender, Babylon 5, SeaQuest, MK Conquest, Amazon, Lexx
@HeavenXxX Both actually, the second season aired from the fall of 1994 to the spring of 1995! :) Loved watching this show on Sunday nights back in the day!
I love the idea of the Fortress of Solitude having a slide in it. I can just imagine Superman just going up and down up and down up and down. That's why he always goes there when he "throws a strop".
This series was awesome...i can watch an episode over and over and it never gets old....except for episodes in the 4th season... anyway i wish they make this series into HD...i would totally buy it.
Tom Welling actually looks like he could grow up to be Superman, but so does Dean Cain. ;)
However, Welling is regularly written as a repressive teenager who's wishy-washy and has almost no drive. Apparently, some people think those are good traits for the greatest hero of all time to have, but I prefer the way he was written in this series, and of course, in the animated series.
Agreed, but they do seem to have changed that a bit so far in this current season. Whether he's much more like Superman is another matter entirely, but his character does seem to have matured a bit more. He's all like "Popcorn with Lois, batter a bad guy in Metropolis on the way back from the kitchen, good times"!
That's probably because Cain was portraying Clark as the "real" person as opposed to Superman. Heck, in one episode, he even says that Clark is who he is and Superman is what he does, like a job moreso. That was one of the major differences this show had with other incarnations of Superman, besides it being basically Moonlighting with super powers really.
The show played up their relationship more than him being Superman. It was like the show Moonlighting, where we had two people who were obviously attracted to each other, but the writers kept the sexual tension going for many years. And when they finally did the deed on that show, the ratings dropped, which is pretty much what happened to Lois and Clark.
I think what happened is the wedding fake out, clone amnesia story pissed fans off and by the time they tried to fix it it was too late and then they changed the night it was on and that killed it also.
@alucard624, according to the commentary for the pilot episode of the show, the original plan was to keep Lois and Clark apart as a couple until season 5, but the creator of the series was fired after the first season, and it went on from there.
That was the 3rd last episode of the first season where they were trapped at the daily planet for the whole night by a group of thugs, and that when clark changes to superman and saves lois and she falls out of a scafalding on the side of the planet building.
Episode called "Pheromone, my lovely" from the first season. A perfume makes everybody love each other. Lois goes for clark, Jimmy goes after a supermodel and Perry WHite goes after the mail lady. Lois can't help that clark is backing off so she does the dance of the 7 vails. After she does this, the potion wears off.
Clark is so handsome

What a damn awkward way to escape an explosion. Did they only have one harness for 3 people or something?

@theandroids Yeah, and I think the reason they did it was just because Michael looked too much like Dean, or something like that...stupid, really.
