I moved to the DC area this year and every day I drive passed Arlington Cemetery where Travis was laid to rest. It doesn't seem that long ago that I got encouraging words from him to keep studying and the confidence would come around with the responsibility of being a Corpsman. Though I didn't get to show Travis how much I had grown at the clinic in Great Lakes that we served together in, I had the honor of saying one last goodbye to him. You keep me going Travis...THANK YOU and GOD BLESS.
Five years ago today we went to Travis' funeral, and it seems like it was only yesterday. I love you so much, Travis, and I am so very, very proud of you.
Just one little correction to make. Travis wasn't a Private. He was an HM3(Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class) in the Navy. I knew him when he was stationed at the Medical Clinic at Great Lakes Naval Base prior to going to Iraq as an Individual Augmentee. He was a really nice guy and I was really saddened when I heard about this.
Travis went in place of my brother in law to iraq and was killed. To me Travis gave his life for my brother in law. He is a hero in my eyes. I am glad i am station near arlington so i can have a chance to go pay my respects to him. I wish his family the best of luck and my condulences.
God Bless Travis. Thank you for your gift that is more than so many of us in America deserve. I, for one will never forget and daily be grateful for you and those like you who are the best among us.

This is probably the most beautiful tribute I have seen for Travis to date. It is very moving, and does my son proud.
Thank you for this.
