  • I hate getting stuck in the bush without the right gear... ;)

  • oh my mobile phone

  • Hi! Are painkillers really necesaary? I think that that pain is information that something is going bad. When you dont fill pain it can go worst. And if you cant bike without painkillers, you shouldnt.

  • @pumbus Dude, the painkillers are for emergencies. IF you wrap yourself around a tree and knock some teeth out or slip into a ravine and break your wrist 20 miles from home you just might need a little something to help you keep your sense of humour for the walk back. :)

  • @mtbtips I think, that taking painkiller with broken wirst is stupid. Do you want to bike after? Consequences can by huge, like forever destroyed wirst. It is to big price for an hour of good humour. Beter idea is to take map, cellphone and trying find a road with busses, or call for friend with car or taxi. Or take a headlight and go on foot.

  • @pumbus Dude. The last two words in my previous response say 'walk back'. As in not ride. :)

  • @mtbtips Sorry dude! Mea culpa!

  • @mtbtips Sorry my master, my brain didnt wake up

  • @pumbus No worries, mate. Cheers.

  • where that bill is coming from? : ) very help full video I always have a pocket knife whit me u never know when u needed. good video!!!!

  • @TETOCHIHUAS Thanks, man. It's an Australian ten dollar note.

Yes, knife very handy. The multi-tool has a knife in it.

  • What is the brand of portable pump and multitool that you are using?

  • @Uncemister2 Pump is an old Beto 2 head dbl action with guage.Works well.Recently purchased a Bontrager Air Support MTB pump 'cause it's 2" shorter.MT is a Topeak Alien II 26-funct. Damn good, except for the built in plastic levers. Carry other levers.

  • very nice video helped me alot thank you :)

  • @MTBingJimBob My pleasure.

  • Spot on; given me a few ideas for my first setup with practical advice and no bullshite thanks :)

  • cheers man alotta help

  • Thanks for the tips! I actually packed all this stuff in my camelback the other day. That next day 6.5 miles into my ride I got a flat, and I had everything I needed.

  • @rusty7two Splendid!

  • Ya I guess a spare d hangers is important! Mine got broke while I was in da woods and the next thing I was pushing my bike out of it..

  • dont forget tp!

  • What's the best way to stow the camelback after a ride?

  • @cdodsonrun I hang mine on a coat hanger after each ride. Before I do that though, I remove the bladder, wash it out, and clean the drinking tube and mouthpiece with the Camelbak tube cleaner thingo, then I hang the bladder upside down on a coathanger to dry. ;)

  • which mtb multitool do you use???

  • @renzo1540 Topeak Alien II

Awesome tool, doesn't break. Built in plastic tire levers are dodgy though. But I haven't found a good plastic tire lever yet, that's why I use metal tire levers. Currently the Alien II is $29 on amazon.com. Wiggle.co.uk has them too. Cheers

  • Thank You!

  • Good call, although I've never carried a spare derailler hanger, otherwise my list is the same

  • Thanks for this very helpful.

  • Thanks man great video very informative

  • A tire boot is also useful to carry if you're riding some gnarly rocks; tearing a sidewall is never pleasant. If a tire boot is too much for you to carry or you've run out- you can go ghetto and use a bill. Just fold it up, place it over the rip, stick in your tube, and pump it up; should last you to the car.

  • @Flare1564

    Good idea.
