This novelty song released in July of 1959 by The Eternals incorperated animal sounds which was unique. It was a great fast dance record and became a hit for them along with another novelty record that they recorded called "Babalu's Wedding Day."

i did see The Rubinoos in concert in nyc years ago and yes they did do this song acapella first.
