  • I saw them on this tour in Brighton – 2 words: Immense awesome

  • 2011...still sounds great.

  • They are playing @ Loppen again (finally).

    I adore The Wedding Present.

    10 år er lang tid.

  • Saw this again in Holmfirth last night (check out the Peel outro Brassneck intro now on here). Sounded great and the crowd loved it ... amazing really. If you can get to the Bizarro anniversary tour go ... just go. I'll be there later in the year in Leeds at the Academy - in the same building they filmed this in ....

  • @rosster13 I saw them on that tour.

    21 years later...still immense!

  • better than oasis and the rest

  • I love 'em and I bought this video when it came out, but why didn't anyone stop Gedge from walking out onstage dressed like that?

  • the greatest band there has ever been.

  • @annilhus

By far. Only saw them once when I was in London in the late 80s. Have been back to the UK on a couple of occasions since with no tour. Just wish they would come to Melbourne. I wait in hope....

  • @annilhus Best Rock Show too. Black Cat, Wash. DC, 2005

    Gedge is a cool guy.

  • this was released as part of a video on the 'all the songs sound the same' tour in about '91 called 'spunk', which had lots of songs from this gig + other film. I've still got it somewhere

  • ha believe it or not peter solowka who was their guitarist from 1985-1991 taught me biology at a priesthorpe high school!!! he still works ther now...(hes in this video)

  • Watch out for The Bizzaro Tour next year 2010 :)

  • altough every wp song is a hit to me :)

  • im 17 but bloody ell bridewell taxis my dad has a cd of theres in our collection

    good stuff :) haha

but great wedding present video i wish thehy would play a greatest hits tour and play at the academy in leeds the place would be packed :)

  • I was at this gig.

    I am on their somewhere.

Jumbo records for the ticket at a mere £3.50 if my memory serves me correct!.

Saw the Bridewell taxis in there and the gig cancelled due to mass stage invasion!.

The venue ended up renamed as the Town and Country club.

    Happy days!!

  • hey you guys love it.........

  • This is the greatest band ever....

Angry songs about love and relationships breaking up. We've all been there.

  • vus revus, à chaque fois qu'il foulait le sol de l'hexagone il parlait français avec le public, rare..., total respect

  • wicked! i was there! i didn't think this would actually be on here! i thought, ill type wedding present live leeds 1990 and i bet nothing comes up! Wicked, am well chuffed!

  • classic gig, classic tour, classic track, classic line-up... huge thanks for posting!

  • greatest band to walk the earth

  • Only good thing to come out of Leeds..Only joking..!

    Long Live TWP.

  • went to this concert, wat a sweat pit it was but the weddoes were awesome, no decent live venues left in leeds?

  • saw them at The Forum this tour, HOW LOUD. couldnt hear a thing for days.

  • Know Gedges brother Tony rite well thoe I aint seen him in 10yrs in fact dont even know if hes still alive does anyone know?

  • Thank-you.

  • No one has or ever will sound like them....

  • I went to this, and I got the poster still and signd tee from gedgey himself. fkin wikid

  • seen them at newcastle on this tour, lost my shoe & sock. what a night.

  • There is another post of this video with higher volume levels so you don't need to turn it up so far.

  • I loved this band for years, first saw them at Portsmouth guildhall many moons ago, had a drink with Gedge at eh bar and I was like 16 :D

  • The Weddoes sung angry songs about relationships breaking up from a male perspective. I loved them. The did evolve into Videodrome.

  • you mean Cinerama?

  • snow patrol eat your fkn heart out!

  • Interesting. Don't really know the Wedding Present but I've liked everything I've seen by them on YouTube. So do you think Snow Patrol are a Wedding Present rip-off.

  • Not exactly, but there's what I call an "inner extra harmony" thing which is similar, though The Wedding present do it much better. Its kind of like inducing another colour into black, white or grey in a painting by surrounding it with hot or cold colours. If you listen "inside" the WP's music there are harmonies that seem to exist behind the music itself. Snow patrol try hard to do it but can't. No, I don't do a lot of drugs :)

  • Thanks I like Snow Patrol. But I missed out on this lot somehow but really like what I've seen so will have to explore more. Cheers.

  • excellent discription jimbaly1.....this band made me cry just listening to the guitar riffs....stirring stuff indeed

  • I used to listen to the Weddoes on LP and tape and then CD and each time you hear different parts inside the songs. If i had to pick THE band to listen to, The Gedgemeister and his gang get the vote.

  • Snow patrol arent fit to lick Gedges arsehole-i saw em RELIGIOUSELY during 88-89-90....thers is NO OTHER BAND

  • Brilliant!!!!

  • peter salowka who used to play gitar in wedding present is now my biology teacher at a highschool in pudsey, leeds!

  • Well tell Pete that he is a legend!

  • *punk fuckin ace

  • Those were the days, shorts, thundering guitars and lots of sweaty bodies

  • I loved this period of the weddoes and this is a brilliant video
