    No, Israel isn't in Europe, but the Israeli national teams play in the European leagues and tournaments because if they were to play in the Asian league like they are geographically supposed to, they'd run into conflicts with Iran. Iran doesn't recognize Israel; Iranian teams aren't allowed to play in Israel, and vice versa. In the 2004 Olympics, an Iranian athlete withdrew from a match when he learned that his opponent was Israeli, and the Israeli won by forfeit. It's all politics.
