    GOD BLESS YOU !!!

  • im an alto and i absolutely love this song particularly the split and the dynamics are absolutely beautiful when theyre done right

  • love this song we just performed it in choir

  • Lovely singing. Thank you for sharing with us. Wally in Oklahoma City

  • ОВО ЈЕ ПРАВИЛНО НАПИСАН НАСЛОВ ПЕСМЕ НА РУСКОМ ЈЕЗИКУ.

    БАТА ИЗ СРБИЈЕ.

  • That's what I sang today with the English Mass Choir of Fisher House Catholic Chaplaincy as a Communion Motet! :D

  • It needs a lots of bass...

  • like this..

    watch also Sola Gratia Choir...

    Indonesia

  • I love this song! But the basses need more, sopranos a little less and the altos have to blend!!!

  • doesn't sound so professional, but still nice.

  • i love this ((=

  • That was a very warm performance. The snow seems nothing more than pillowly fluff in the presence of this song.

  • The altos don't blend very well, but otherwise really great...

  • I'm so jealous! When i did this piece with my Highs chool choir, the teacher wouldn't let us breathe anywhere!!xD

  • more bass..

  • @proud2beawildcat211 Yeah, you are right! But I believe that most amateur choirs are eager for bass singers!

  • rushed too much imo...

  • way too fast.

  • I like the tempo.. It gives the piece a different feel however the speed I think is what causes them to drop a half step... Plus the damn sopranos are too loud but isn't that always the case...

  • Its BOGORODITSE you

  • I am so happy the churches of the east and west this in common WE LOVE THE BLESSED VIRGIN>>.This is one of the greatest works of music ever.... Thank you for posting......

  • Замечательно справились с текстом, хотелось бы послушать вас в хорошей аккустике : )

    Спасибо!

  • too fast i think, but pretty good.

  • Молодцы ! Жалко что акустика в зале такая сухая, не благородная.

  • the acoustics of the room certainly didnt help you guys much. All of that carpet... But nice singing!

  • I sang this last year and its exceptionally difficult. good job! watch the vowels, i thought it slipped a couple times

  • bravo!

  • we sing this song in A Capella all the time. Beautiful

  • Bogoroditsye looks more correct. However, the english translation is not Ave Maria it's Rejoice, Virgins or something like that.

  • The chorale I'm in is working on this now. The translation on the copy we are using is:

Rejoice, O virgin mother of God, Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, for thou has borne the saviour of our souls.

  • Rejoice, O Virgin Theotokos (=Bogoroditsa, birth-giver of God), the Lord is with Thee.

Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, for thou hast borne the Savior of our souls.

This is Orthodox version of what is known in the West as the "Hail Mary", the angel Gabriels greeting and message to Mary, from Luke chapter 1.

  • Bogoroditse Devo is the correct spelling....

we sang this my senior year in Advanced Singers...

it is a BEAUTIFUL song... :)

  • About the comment made by drhedi

While you are correct, The translation and, for those who know and love Rachmaninov's works, what it is commonly known as, is in fact the Ave Maria. And most copies-including the Russian Sacred Music Series, as well as many others- all have this timeless piece translated into the Ave Maria.

And to the people who set this up. You dont need the y's in the english spelling.

    And the singing was marvelous

  • this would sound fantastic in a better acoustic. very very good though!

  • Perfecto! This is an exceptional choir. It was a pleasure hearing this.

  • Bohorodice Djevo raduj sya blahodatnaja Marije etc... It isn't Ave Maria like in latin church!!! Bohorodice means Theotoktos (Θεοτόκος) means 'one who gives birth to God'

It's a pray used by Orthodox Church in some parts of liturgy.

About singing... Beautifull, but too bright-basso and alto had to have mellow voices!!! That's the main in Rachmaninov's and all Estern Slavonic Church music.

  • great!! i sing this in choir and it is so beautiful this is a very hard to sing and seing it done to this quality lets me know that it is possible!

  • very good!

    good choir!

I just can't recognyze in what language they are singing it...

  • Russian

  • Moscow recension Church Slavonic, actually. It is not modern Russian. Church Slavonic is closer to Bulgarian.
