I cannot remember where i saw it first, but it was a piece of artwork by Beksinski that utterly captivated me. And when i found the official website...i sat there for hours, looking at the pictures and listening to this piece by Preisner...i was enthralled.
It was much, much later that i came to watch Kieslowskis movies, and then discovering that this composer..is beyond anything i had ever heard. he is without a doubt my favorite composer. He composes the music for my soul...
Was led to this by buying an H.P. Lovecraft book with one of Beksinski's paintings as the covor art, finally found Beksinski's webpage showcasing his AMAZING surreal artwork, and this was the song playing in the sight as background music, and is so fiiitng to listen to while reading Lovecraft.
This is probably the most haunting and surreal tune I have ever heard. This piece have a soul of its own, a sad soul that have seen unspeakable things.
It is seldom I have been moved by a piece with such a heavy-hearted melody like this one. Thank you for existing Preisner.
LOL!
I would'nt go as far as to say all polish are genii as it is a very stereotypical view. I would however recognise them as very mathematical people hence their reputation within the world of classical music
Just another guy brought here by Beksinski's site. Really interesting piece, this one. Sounds simple enough to figure out for violin too.

I agree. I don't understand where all the Polish being dumb jokes started....this is brilliant. Kieslowski and Preisner are masters of their craft.
