This is a good video, but let me tell you a little something. It is a dog natural instinct to NOT chew there food. They will occasionally, but not the majority of the time. Wrap the pill in a peice of cheese and simply feed it to your dog. He/she will not chew. The reason? Message me and i will tell you. The comment box is to small xD

Invest in a pill popper, it makes this much more safe and comfortable for both of you. We have a Rottweiler so my husband straddles her, gently locking her in place with his knees and opens her mouth. I have to be right at the ready and get that pill popper down her throat to the point where you would begin to gag and pop the pill, it needs to be PASSED the pinnacle of the tongue IN THE THROAT. We hold her muzzle shut until she swallows a few times. Then we release her and give tons of praise.

My dog didn't fuss over taking his meds. When we adopted him we noticed he was sneezing green snot and it turns out we pointed it out just in time. He was just starting to have kennal cough so they gave us the anti-biotics to give him when we took him home and he didn't give any fuss over it. tried all steps up to the pill popper, only to result with my finger nearly being bitten off. Pill popper does no good if dog insists on clamping its jaw shut no matter where you try to grasp. A dog's jaws are rather strong, especially larger dogs. Dog also injures itself by biting on own lips while refusing. The pill popper is also nearly chewed up, since they are made with cheap plastic.

@Blueball0120 Maybe. sometimes dogs need antibiotics for skin infections or other types of infctions, they dont show illness as humans do most of the time. They may have not really been giving this dog a pill though. Maybe a vitamin to demonstrate.

@ca1cifer Im sure it depends on the pill. But you are right, not all pills are meant to be crushed but rather slowly broken down by the body. I would go by if it was chewable or not, makes sense to me, but not all people will think this way and will overdose their dogs bloodstream if they dont ask a Dr before crushing.

So I put the pill in the cheese so it is pressed in and they can't get it out o it won't fall out, then they just swallow it. They have never spat it out. And for some strange reason, my dogs hate ice cream... That may work for your dog, but it sure as hell doesn't work for mine.
