It's amazing how powerful their music is. When I was first introduced to it I didn't understand the lyrics as I didn't speak English at the time, it was the music was compelling to me. Now 20 years later I understand the lyrics only to adore Dead Can Dance even more...
The first half of the song is about Paul Wolfowitz: As Deputy Secretary of Defense, he was "a major architect of President Bush's Iraq policy and ... its most hawkish advocate." Donald Rumsfeld in his interview with Fox News on February 8, 2011 said that Wolfowitz was the first to bring up Iraq after 9/11 attacks during a meeting at presidential retreat at Camp David.
This song is great in front of a log fire with just candles for light on a stormy night..............it makes me think of the middle ages ,dark ages and even further back.
@insidethefall78 Actually there are 2 versions of Antimatter's cover, the acoustic was not featured on the Lotus Eaters album which was a DCD tribute album that featured covers by various bands.
Definatley one of their best, brendans voice just blows me away every time. One of his best along with Xavier, the carnival is over and tell me about the forest.
You can always count of Dead Can Dance to deliver the straight message even if people who do not hear it understand? Black Sun is amongst my top ten of their.
band of the moment on lsd i'll love it :*

This is Travis Meeks of Days of the New's favorite band. You can definitely hear the influence in Day's later albums.
