He's got the tone down pretty good, I love seeing people from different countries celebrating the art of music. It's something we all share and it brings us together, love it!
I love the Japanese - we (ie. the British) should also devote a 10-minute segment of daytime tv to Brian May looky-likeys. His version of the Brighton Rock solo from Live Killers at 6:20 onwards is pretty uncanny! And the reaction - aawwwwwwwww!
At 03:09 he is talking about his interest in reflected light from interplanetary dust and the velocity of dust in the plane of the Solar System and the influence that it is having on his life.
He then goes on to say how important it is to have his anus bleached regularly as if he does not he feels like a dirty send up of someone who actually has real talent.
At 05:06 He is marveling at his ability to be able to own two red specials and a stack of AC30's and still not being able to play well.
And it does sound alot different to the standard BMG, the Super sustains much better (the accoustic pockets are larger) The pickups are also quite different, with the modified adeson pickups the out oh phase sounds have much more body to them! Of course the tremolo also adds to the feel/ sound of the guitar.
To be honest I think the super is an affordable replica and is about as close as you can get for the money. For a Pro quality guitar that is handmade £2750 is not a huge amount (although its still alot of money)
If you want all the original features it has to be a guyton im affraid and that will set you back alot more!
Nothing of incredible by the way for 2700 UK Pounds. The bridge is a simple Wilkinson bridge foremost not a Brian May Bridge and the mechanics despite is white ain't Schaller equipment...
his technique isnt quite brian may. its odd cause you can think of brian in the same way as hendrix because there is just no one who plays exactly like them. its a combination of six pence, an extremly expensive replica, an ac30 heritage turned up to full. a treble booster and his technique. but you must remeber that brian may wrote these types of things. thats what ultimately splits him from everyone. the fact he wrote songs tht sell millions and this guy is in a tribute band
He has the sound (thanks to the super red special) but he plays a lot of mistakes, has a terrible vibrato, is not in tune... anyway that's a nice tv program.
well... to be honnest, it dont sound any different then the regular red special, only 2 main features stand out to me, bridge, and the pickup rings.
i would not pay 2750 uk pounds for this guitar, id stick with my normal red special, what happened to the guitar at the afordable price as brian may once said?
i agree with you tbh,. although id love to have a RS with original tremolo, lacquered neck, authentic volume controls etc.. my burns RS, home made treble booster and vox valvetronix does a really great job - and all for under £500 its not bad.. one day i might get a super/ KZ but until i have loads of money to spend , im happy with what ive got! :P
Didn't know Brian May is so fluent in Japanese. ha ha... Oh.. got to love that Freddie sitting in the crowd. Awesome! Where can I buy a Brian May Super?
His face DOES resemble Page..especially when he's looking down at the guitar when he plays....and that somehow makes sense..Page is 1/8 Chinese as his Grandmother was 1/2 Chinese. No more wondering why he wore the oriental dragon designs on his trousers in concert all those years ago. He's part Asian! Hence the influence was because it's part of his ancestry.
This guy should do Brian May AND Jimmy Page impersonations itd fit perfectly wouldnt it be cool to see Brian May/Jimmy Page's talents mixed together thatd be mind blowing!
You can get a red special super from house music. Go to Brian May guitars and e-mail or call Deano and order one. I have ordered #11 out of I think 100 to be made. Brian Jamie and a few close to brian have 1-10. DEano is a great guy to work with. Does anyone have any idea what pedals he is using other than the red special pedal from digitech?
Maybe not but if you are in a Queen tribute band then you would've/should've had the prime sounds sorted???
No excuse. Maybe Yass uses that one and may be unaware of the difference? Just because he is in a tribute band....doesn't mean to say that he is aware of the tonal differences???
To be fair. I dont speak japonese but i think he was unprepaired and was just asked to play this on the spot. but one thing is for sure. this guitar is definatly caipible of sounding like brian may's own red special i know this because brian may now uses them himself.
This is fantastic , now thats another meet up i would have also loved to have gone too as well . So nice to see and hear the new BMG Super in the hands of a wonderful Japanese player, Yass , wth the master luthier Kazutaka there as well . It would be excelent if any of our Japanese friends possibly translate this to English . Thanks for posting . Joe.

To kahuna, the amps are up full!
To poochcastilon, He is not using the digitech BM. Its Yass's full Brian may rig (pete cornish TB83 and boss ce-1 chorus pedal)
KZRS200711 3 years ago
Hi, Actually, Yass is using Greg Fryer's Treble Booster Deluxe here, not TB83.
