Maybe occult was the wrong term to use for understanding of what I meant. I could also have used the term metaphysical although both are very broad terms.

Stating that, Plant wrote the lyrics to most of the songs and as with No Quarter which refers to Norse lore. I've also had personal interaction with Plant (a benefit of working for a radio station) and have asked JPJ about it and even he said Plant was also into black magic for a period if time. As for the Tolkien, agreed, I think its wonderful he had such an influence on their music.
