I don't really care for West's music but as to stealing music you have to shrug your shoulders because there is very little out there that is truly original, imitation is the highest form of flattery. I think Ammonia Avenue refers to a direct and unstoppable parade towards ultimate self-pollution and self-destruction that we need to be aware of. - and Avenue is a straight and direct route often very pretty and ususally tree-lined which can distract the traveller from the goal at the end. The trees lead us to the goal which is usually a man-made edifice.

Homework? Obviously you didn't. APP has put out eleven albums and has nearly a dozen grammy nominations across a career that started as an engineer on The Beatles Abbey Road, through today. Not counting their original releases, their music has been reissued, sampled, covered, used as soundtracks, etc even today. Truth is, if Kanye wasn't sampling songs - most of my buds & I wouldn't of ever heard this song or the other songs he sampled!
I would never of heard this song & in fairness this song is magic so I say nice one to Kanye for introducing me to some legendary tunes.

damn right! if it's sampled and turned into a mere lazy-ass rap remake and the end result is not even good lyrically, it should be spat upon. back in the day it would be more or less acceptable but with the way music production has advanced both creatively and technologically, there should be no excuses!
Kanye is an innovator - a genius. he flips a sample well, no matter if it's liked it or not. enough for you to recognize it but not enough for a blatant remake - the perfect balance.
