You need to have an Illusion spell in your spellbook and you also need to be able to cast it. Any Illusion spell will do, as long as you have enough magicka and enough skill to cast it.

Also, what you are suggesting is the exact same thing portrayed in this video, except that you'd be using Light for the custom spell, rather than Charm.

@KonstantinUb Look the game is just a bunch of mini treadmills. There's no right way and wrong way to run the treadmill. If running around casting this is what floats your boat do it. Everyone has freedom of choice to how to run the various mini treadmills without being bored to death.

I can run through Oblivion with 100 speed and 80 athletic and the game updates my map reveals on time so my computer is more than adequate. Particle effects always lag so it's best to keep them off the screen.

@AkonLegends The main questline follows the Amulet of Kings on its way to Martin and the trials you pass to end the Oblivion Crisis. In other words, it's the quest chain you start when you escape the prison.

Rockmilk Cave is between Bravil and Leyawiin. It lies just north of the small settlement of Water's Edge.

I think I was around level 20 in this particular video.

OK so there is a better way , i dont know why i didnt get ilusion light spell at the beggining of the game , once i did get it , and how i developed ilusion was to actually just cast it , that was when i was ilusion lvl 65-70-75 .... so it cost me 1-2 magicka and i would cast it and cast it and i would get better and better at ilusion , so there is what you need doing XD LOL

My suggestion for leveling this is going to Castle Bruma, go inside then turn to your right and go into the castle Bruma Barrack and there should be like 9 gaurds you can do this with, so far the best i could find..

Awesome vid, I made the spell, then went right out back to the Lecture in the Arcane University Rear Courtyard, hit like 8 people each time I cast, and went from 22 illusion to 56 in about 8-10 minutes, I just waited 21 hours after each time they stood up to leave, so I could go to the start time of the next days lecture. works VERY well. This worked perfect. Thanks a ton!!!! What I did was go to a bar like the Flowing Bowl in Anvil. I knew there would be people just sitting there. Hold block while casting the spell and it levels real fast. At least on ps3 it does. I went from level 10 to 50.

The Novice spell Beguiling Touch can be bought for 14 septims from Delphine Jend in the Bravil Mages Guild between 9am and 8pm or 10pm-12am, and Selenia Orania in the Bruma guild hall, available randomly between 8am and 1am.

Also, the Novice spell Captivate is rewarded for completing the Bravil Recommendation quest.

all spells no matter if it costs 100 points to cast or 1 point it still gives you the same exp for the particular skill(illusion, Mysticism, destruction) also doesn't matter if it hits more than one person or not you only get exp per effective cast no matter how many people it hits an easy way to level alteration is make a "open very easy lock" spell and repeatedly cast it on a chest or door(doesn't have to be locked) i got to level 100 alteration in less than 3 hours

matters as far as what? sorry kinda vague... if you are worried about magicka cost try doing the duplication glitch with fortify intelligence or fortify magicka with a grand soulgem with a grand soul it gives you a little more magicka per ring if you go the fortify intelligence route plus if you do the same with willpower it can make your magicka recharge so fast that you won't need to use weylan stones or sorcery potions while casting

technically anything other than normal gameplay is cheating so repeatedly casting a spell over and over IS cheating the leveling is designed to occur through normal gameplay so rephrase your comment its basically leveling you up without having to do anything else except sit in one spot and cast, so it could be considered cheating, because you are "exploiting" the leveling system
