How cool it must have been, paul, to see Cab Calloway perform live & especially to meet him. Truly one of the greats! That's wonderful to know that he turned out to be as nice in person as he was onscreen.
I saw him perform at Browns Hotel in the Catskills in 1958. I also me him many years later at Yonkers Raceway and spoke to him. A great talent and very nice to a stranger. My favorite performance was when he sang on the Porgy and Bess Album in place of Sammy Davis Jr.
Wow, I didn't know Cab peformed this song on film. Great performance. I've never seen this side of him before.
