I can play normal avi xvid or divx files through the usb but I have to convert them all to this. Will the hack enable it to play h264 as well? I can view pics and play mp3 through usb also fine. Usb connect works with movies on external hard drive but half my huge movie collection is in h264.....

@motorsportking1 Oh ok, then I think your device doesn't support MKV or h264.

I have a 50PS30FD plasma, firmware is 3.15 and its a 2009 model. Could this hack work on my tv? j have struggled to find info I even joined a forum! its an australian model too.

@motorsportking1 I have googled your model, but i couldn't find out if it can play media files. If you look at the USB contact, does say something? Like service only or something like that?

@weldenable I think that this menu is for a general one for many LG devices. Some have bluetooth and some don't. Mine doesn't have it. Check if yours has it or not or you can post your model and I'll google it.

@slyonme I'm not very sure if your USB port supports movie playing too. I googled it and it said photo stream. Try to do what I did and maybe it'll work with your TV too.

när jag trycker på EPG, så visar det bara ett kryss på min tv. jag har en philips tv, och har orginalkontrollen. men varför funkar det inte att trycka på EPG ? någon som vet ?? :)

@Teskedsgumman87 Det handlar verkligen inte om pengar utan jag vill ha den kvar ifall det blir fel och jag måste återställa TV:n till "fabriksåterställning" vilket har hänt ett par gånger de senaste månaderna. Jag vill verkligen hjälpa dig men vet inte hur :(

Och jag förstår vad du menar. Skälv provade jag ett antal kontroller innan den här funkade.

Det kan förresten vara en annan modell du har. Har du en exakt likadan eller annan storlek typ?

@Teskedsgumman87 Jag har faktiskt ingen aning. Det enda jag vet är att jag hade problem med att spela upp vissa MKV filer som hade DTS ljud så jag fick konvertera ljudet på datorn till ACC eller vad det kallas och det gick bra efter det. Det tog jävligt mycket tid men det gick i alla fall.

Har kollat runt lite mera, man måste tydligen ha en remote som klara att skriva in koden 0015-0018. sen trycka på EPG då skadet fungera :) får letar vidare he he

Hej. Testat alla mina koder även dom du skrev blir bara error då. Hmm skumnt att den inte vill svara på någon av koderna, har exakt likadan tv som du.

Vilken kod har du på din remote? om man tar en mobil kamera o startar för att ta en bild, så kan du istället trycka på en knapp så ser du igen skrämen att det blinkar till. Detta ser man ej med ögat, när jag ska välja kanal så blinkar det till men inte när jag tar EPG knappen :/

Jag fick tag i en kontroll ifrån Lidl, det är inte likadan men har EPG har bytt flera koder men inget händer när ja trycker på EPG, något jag kanske har missat ?

@Teskedsgumman87 Alla fungerande koder gör inte att alla funktioner funkar. Därför har man flera koder. Det enda jag kan tipsa dig är att prova alla koder även om nån funkar. När du har fått en kod som funkar så tryck på EPG knappen och se om du får rätt meny.

@biggestbertie There's no universal code. Every manufacture has its own codes. Look in the remote manual and you'll find a list of codes. Try one after the other until the TV reacts to the remote.

@sweden721127 okej, alltså man behöver bara ställa in rätt kod till dosan som har EPG och testa så att kontrollen synkar med tvn en bara trycka på EPG.

why doesent this work 4 me i have a 47LD420 and a universal remote with an epg buttom but when i press the epg i do not get the password menu i get somthing else ?! why?

@83kakan I have no idea why you don't get the password menu. Have you tried many bottoms so make sure that the remote is correctly configured? Otherwise you can search for another code on the remote to connect it to the TV as most universal remote controls have more than 1 code to connect to TV:s and some codes work better than others.

What kinda menu do you get?

i have tried all the 6 codes that is in the manual 4 the remote control (its an electia bought at claes ohlson) onley one works. the menu i get is a circle of options to change the picture (16:9 etc..) and other stuff;(

@83kakan You seem to get the picture options menu. Try all the other bottoms, maybe you'll get the password menu.

By the way, there was an update for this TV from LG for about 3 months ago. Did you get it? Have you installed it?

@juanchohurtado You have to program a universal remote control to your TV. First of all you have to make sure that the remote control has n EPG (Electronic program guides) bottom. After you do that try to make sure that the remote control is properly configured by testing some bottoms, like volume up and down or something like that. Now you press the EPG bottom and then you get the password menu,

@sweden721127 Did u only plug an external HDD with your movies so u can watch blu ray? And is it plugged with usb or hdmi ?

@donkeyzonparole Via USB I only plugged an external HDD. I don't know if you can plug anything else via USB. I even plugged an HDMI cable from my computer to the TV and it works good too, but that's what the original software from LG provides, no need for hack to watch via HDMI.

For about 2 weeks ago I got a message when I started my TV that says there's an update available but I didn't dare to install it as I don't know how it might effect my "hacked" Film list. Has anybody done this update, and what are the results?

I use an outdoor antenna by the way and the message keeps showing everytime I start my TV.
