A one-eyed wizard wants the Eye of Odin. A one-eyed bear, believed to be the one-eyed wizard, tries to steal the Eye of Odin. Are the thought-wheels turning in your head yet, Goliath?
@wizofauzz yeah i realized it 2 min after i posted that... i felt pretty dumb, but in my defence we had just run into Arthur, and he said he was looking for Merlin so my brain jumped ahead...
What I don't understand is, why doesn't the old guy just tell them the truth? I mean, come on! "Hello! Welcome to Norway! I am the mighty Oden of Asguard. I'm sure you've heard of me. Anywho, as you can plainly see, I have lost my eye & I would appretiate it if you would return it to me. I know you have it, it's mine afterall. I also know that you came from Avalon, so don't deny it. If you give it back to me, I'll reward you with a warm coat for the lovely lady. What say you?"
Sleepdog316, made a good point about Elisa looking scared when the old man offered a trade to Goliath. What got me was that Goliath didn't seem too happy when the old man's trade didn't include Elisa's ass
Why is it that gargoyles can crush stone like dough, tear steal like paper, and bend iron like freakin bendaroos, but when it comes to fighting a polar bear it take 3 gargoyles to stop it.
@benny63005 I would disable it, not permanently, but I would disable it so I could get away. Besides, I do not carry a gun with me. I prefer a blade, they do not need ammo, only skill.
Secondly, Stone, Iron, and Steel are all inanimate. The Polar Bear(Odin) as movement, fighting skill, and CENTURIES of experience.
I just wish that there could be summer when they are in Norway,Sweden or Denmark because in every cartoon or show from america where someone visits those countries it is always covered with snow.
I wonder what the face on the boat is...Greg Weisman seems to not want to answer that in his blog. Apparently, in the ep with the Archmage, the archmage summons a boat with his own face on it.
Okay, I'll forgive the misplaced polar bear since it's actually Oden and I'll forgive the extremely cold weather and pretend it's in the very north of Norway but WHY IN THE WORLD would they decide that a Norwegian boy should be called Guther?
@SilverLiningE The North is forever marked as lying somewhere in the North Pole area. We eat lard and our only activities take place on the ice. We all have braids and are called Greta or Gunther. case closed.
@me2wonder I also love how the father says he's "rich in sweaters", and it's way too true. It's a good thing for him too, as the ultimate Kool-aid man stunt happens to his house.
@Issus38 never, my friend! but i was commenting on how people who wouldn't normally know english happened to speak it really well in this series. e.g. people from japan & egypt =)
@AvatarRoku Yes. It's very fortunate that they always meet someone who just happens to know english...but I wouldn't be surprised if people knew english in the African continen and Egypt...after all, they were british colonies

When I first saw the mage I thought it was Merlin (because of what happened in the previous episode), then I thought it must be Odin himself because he had only 1 eye.
*sigh* Once again they've missed some vital parts about what country they present:
1 I know the Bear is Odin, but the moment you spot a polar bear in Norway, call me!
2 The majority of huts here in Norway are almost all wood, that is an american way of construction!
3 Looks more like Alaska to me.
4 In the original mythos, Odin had the nickname "the King of kings" and he had to deal with monster-like creatures almost every day, yet he's beaten almost in an instant by three gargoyles!
Ok its not a real bear. I was gonna ask why a bear would attack 3 beasts as big as itself. It could have been a rabid bear. Then Goliath would be a rabid gargoyle. Hed be a hard one to kill.
@sarahrhapsody Dargoyles? No, definitely not; but he will be reunited with gargoyles!:)))))))))) according to the comments I've seen it will around....episode 56 or something;

@Scobragon Goalith should have taded the eye of odin for the parka. and before you ask me why i thinkl that? it's because that was one ordnary old man. that old man is ODIN himself asking Goalith to trade the eye od odin for a parka so Elisa can be warm in the cold weather of norway. it's a smart trade if you ask me. Now if Goal;ith had held the eye over the old man he would have seen odin himself in the eye. after all the other name for4 the eye of odin is the eye of truth.

If it's Odin king of the pantheon of Norse gods, then his called Oden!
Or that whats he's called in Swedish.

Wow, I forgot how quickly Odin put the cards on the table just to have his eye returned. Talk about being upfront!
