  • A one-eyed wizard wants the Eye of Odin. A one-eyed bear, believed to be the one-eyed wizard, tries to steal the Eye of Odin. Are the thought-wheels turning in your head yet, Goliath?

  • benny63005 Did you not notice? The polar bear was missing a eye? The Wizard also is missing a eye.....see the connection?

  • Hmm... Eye of Odin... for a coat... Seems like a fair trade to me.

  • Hint to his identity: What magic being has just one eye?

  • @Coganboy A Cyclops? One-eyed ogres? XD

  • @TheNemesis274 Hahaha. Those guys all have just one eye, but this guy has two eyes, but one's missing. That's a bigger clue.

  • @Coganboy Odin. :) Allfather.

  • its soo cute when golieth is carring elisa and his wings are draped over her XD

  • polarbears i norway doint think sow

  • Hahaha lol wow Merlin damn are they gunna go through every single myth in the all the books

  • @dromonod dude its clearly Odin

  • @wizofauzz yeah i realized it 2 min after i posted that... i felt pretty dumb, but in my defence we had just run into Arthur, and he said he was looking for Merlin so my brain jumped ahead...

  • "What is it, Bronx?"

    ZOMBIE BEAR ATTACK!

  • Gargoyles are awsome on so many levels. They can bare the cold really good.

  • 5:19 - 5:23 Sweet Jesus! I LOVE Goliath's voice! Ah, Keith David rocks socks. :D

  • *Spoiler alert*

What I don't understand is, why doesn't the old guy just tell them the truth? I mean, come on! "Hello! Welcome to Norway! I am the mighty Oden of Asguard. I'm sure you've heard of me. Anywho, as you can plainly see, I have lost my eye & I would appretiate it if you would return it to me. I know you have it, it's mine afterall. I also know that you came from Avalon, so don't deny it. If you give it back to me, I'll reward you with a warm coat for the lovely lady. What say you?"

  • @LuciannaDeCelio It is simply his way to travel among Midgardians in disguise. He never revealed his true form until it became necessary.

  • Sleepdog316, made a good point about Elisa looking scared when the old man offered a trade to Goliath. What got me was that Goliath didn't seem too happy when the old man's trade didn't include Elisa's ass

  • Who else knew the polar bear was merlin when they saw they were both missing an eye..

  • farm in the winter...da fuck?

  • The Eye belongs to Odin and he has come to reclaim it be glad he's giving anything at all for it

  • Goliath: what do you want in trade? (Elisa looking scared)

one eyed man: something i need that YOU have no intention of using...the coat is hers if u give me her sweet ass...i mean the eye of odin lol

it made it seem that way at first to me...

  • i love how goliath says its he's duty to protect elisa, like THAT'S ROMANTIC Xp

  • that stupid ol' wizrard could have atleast TRIED to make the trade more enticing,

a worn out coat for the eye of odin? ..... cmon man...

  • as an activist for aminal cruelty, it upsets me when bronx gets hurt

  • I remember this episode best because it was the last one I saw on TV before they stopped showing Gargoyles. Sad Face T-T

  • @ThisAnimeGal u know they still air gargoyles on disney XD at 3 am or depending on what time zone you live at.

  • @neonrave210 ......-_- I bet a TON of people get up to watch it too. XP still love it though even if they're a 3 am show now.

  • eye of odin for a lousy coat? get real.

  • next time I'm about to go off a cliff in car I'll pray for goliath

  • I'm amazed how long that damn boat lasted them even if it is enchanted.

  • Yay! I always get so excited when my country is presented in a cartoon or movie!

    (Norwegian Gargoyle fangirl.)

  • Yea sit your ass down and have a coke polar bear.

  • I love how William Morgan Sheppard who plays odin also plays the wanna be odin in Atlantis 2 then again Greg was the voice director for both XD

  • the guy looks like a wizard, has one eye, they're in norway, and he knows things he shouldn't. he's either a wierd cultist or freaking Odin!

  • I didn't know Odin could shapeshift and cause snow storms! :O

  • Maybe the polar bear escaped from the Lost island.

  • 4:55 - *PUNCH*

    Welcome to Earth.

  • Was anyone else hoping that they would turn into a gaint snow ball when Goliath was wrestling the polar bear?

  • norway... 1 eye'd old man... wants the eye of odin... Why do I feel like I already know what's gonna happen?

  • Why is it that gargoyles can crush stone like dough, tear steal like paper, and bend iron like freakin bendaroos, but when it comes to fighting a polar bear it take 3 gargoyles to stop it.

  • @benny63005 from my knowledge, all those items don't fight back and try to tear your throat out.

  • @benny63005 dude I was thinking the same thing!

  • @benny63005 Trying to take it down, but not kill it?

  • @kovulover

Let me answer your question with a question.

If a polar bear attacked you would you try to disable it or shoot the friggen thing?

  • @benny63005 I would disable it, not permanently, but I would disable it so I could get away. Besides, I do not carry a gun with me. I prefer a blade, they do not need ammo, only skill.

Secondly, Stone, Iron, and Steel are all inanimate. The Polar Bear(Odin) as movement, fighting skill, and CENTURIES of experience.

  • @benny63005 sorcery!!

  • @benny63005 Well, Goliath did say it wasn't an ordinary bear.

  • @benny63005 Besides comparable or greater strength, far greater mass, and IT IS ODIN ALL FATHER WITH ANOTHER EYE?

  • I just wish that there could be summer when they are in Norway,Sweden or Denmark because in every cartoon or show from america where someone visits those countries it is always covered with snow.

  • I wonder what the face on the boat is...Greg Weisman seems to not want to answer that in his blog. Apparently, in the ep with the Archmage, the archmage summons a boat with his own face on it.

  • the old man and the polar are odin

  • ther is no pola bear in norway eksept in zoo

  • Finally! One of the best episodes of the series! Viking mythology is the coolest shit.

  • 0:32 Merlin!

"Welcome to Norway" Oh, wait... Oden!

  • Okay, I'll forgive the misplaced polar bear since it's actually Oden and I'll forgive the extremely cold weather and pretend it's in the very north of Norway but WHY IN THE WORLD would they decide that a Norwegian boy should be called Guther?

  • @SilverLiningE The North is forever marked as lying somewhere in the North Pole area. We eat lard and our only activities take place on the ice. We all have braids and are called Greta or Gunther. case closed.

  • @me2wonder I also love how the father says he's "rich in sweaters", and it's way too true. It's a good thing for him too, as the ultimate Kool-aid man stunt happens to his house.

  • Anyone else have the urge to just smile at 3:00. Ah what a view :)

  • it's amazing how everyone who isn't american/british has conversational knowledge of the english language.

  • @AvatarRoku Don't forget us blokes from Ireland!!

  • @Issus38 never, my friend! but i was commenting on how people who wouldn't normally know english happened to speak it really well in this series. e.g. people from japan & egypt =)

  • @AvatarRoku Yes. It's very fortunate that they always meet someone who just happens to know english...but I wouldn't be surprised if people knew english in the African continen and Egypt...after all, they were british colonies

  • @Issus38 Or in Europe. We hear English because we're the audience. We can assume that the father and son know enough to communicate with an American on the basics.

  • Norway? Why is it that everyone thinks that Norway's climate is equal to that of the North Pole?

  • @me2wonder lets just assume it is winter

  • @TheOnlyTherazan

yes. I find this acceptable. I will assume.

  • merlan came to my brian xD but its more likely to be the one eyed odin, man he looks frail lol

  • If Goliath did MMA, he'd be champion. !

  • Holy shit that's Odin! Fucking awesome! Im so into to Norse mythology n I saw Odin n he asked for the eye I was like "NO WAY!"

  • Elisa is in trouble. Black folks don't like the cold...

  • Boy - "If Elisa was hiking when the storm came up, why wasn't she wearing a Parka?"

Gunter - "Some people are not as smart as others son".

  • ...why the heck didn't Odin just say "I AM ODIN BITCH GIVE ME MY EYE BACK!"

..I mean...he's freakin ODIN! pretty sure Goliath would have said ok

  • nooooo santa went black and evil! :O

  • how long did it take everyone else to click that the old guy/bear was odin? personally.... instantly when he said he wanted the eye and the fact there in norway lol

  • @liamevans1987 Im such a Nerd I thought it almost as soon as he appeared. "Hmm... Cold... Old man, Norway? Is it Odin? He wants the eye? It's Odin... one eyed polar bear, stealing the pouch that holds the eye... it's Odin! :D"

  • @KeiLeina lol its made me want a pet gargoyle now but.... they rnt real :(

  • @liamevans1987 >> I beleive in them Still. x3 I'm gonna have a house covered in them one day, and I'll look outside EVERY TIME the sun goes down, and sqwee every few seconds until they wake up. I'll become like Elisa and Never sleep. x3

  • @KeiLeina i like you iv added you as a friend on here :)

  • Doesn't Goliath know that the polar bear is an endangered species?

  • Norway the best.

  • I am sorry but there is absolutely no way a sane Norwegian father would name his son Günther. Gunnar maybe, but not Günther. Trust me I would know.

  • 0.32 "welcome to Norway!" anyone else crack up by the way he said that xD?

  • Odin is SANTA! 0.0

  • 1:32-1:41 now we know were twilight came from sigh..

  • icebear *sighs* there is no icebears in norway....

  • Norway? Cool I live there :p. Yey!

  • Too bad they have Odin missing the wrong eye.

  • When I first saw the mage I thought it was Merlin (because of what happened in the previous episode), then I thought it must be Odin himself because he had only 1 eye.

  • He just wanted to tell them about Coka-Cola

  • I'm sorry, but doesn't Gunther's dad look like the very first Hunter that was after Demona?

  • @blackcatbunchie

He's probably a distant descendant of the first Hunter either that or the fact that the artists drew him with that likeness.

  • gotta watch out for those mugging bears in Norway

  • Duty Goliath? Is duty the only reason you protect Elisa? Hm?

  • @WrathObssesed : Of COURSE. -wink wink-

  • GUNTHER!! MY FAVORITE MUSICIAN! CX

  • Angela would be estatic about seeing ice and snow.

  • I hate that noise the snow makes when they walk

  • I wonder if the one-eyed man/bear has a connection to the henchman with one eye in the last episode...

  • I thought Gargoyles were impervious to cold? But the scene with Elisa and Goliath in the snow is very reminiscent of Frosty the Snowman.

  • Wait, polar bears in Norway? I don't care if it's Odin, that's -weird-.

  • *sigh* Once again they've missed some vital parts about what country they present:

1 I know the Bear is Odin, but the moment you spot a polar bear in Norway, call me!

2 The majority of huts here in Norway are almost all wood, that is an american way of construction!

3 Looks more like Alaska to me.

4 In the original mythos, Odin had the nickname "the King of kings" and he had to deal with monster-like creatures almost every day, yet he's beaten almost in an instant by three gargoyles!

    *sigh*

  • norway?

  • Goliath and Elisa are such a cute cupple!

  • Goliath makes for a cool Norse God. He is already very authoritative in his normal form, but as a God? Muthaf----!!!

  • Bear form or not, how could Goliath just beat ODIN? Mind boggling ;)

  • Ok its not a real bear. I was gonna ask why a bear would attack 3 beasts as big as itself. It could have been a rabid bear. Then Goliath would be a rabid gargoyle. Hed be a hard one to kill.

  • will goliah be ever reunited with the other dargoyles?

  • @sarahrhapsody Dargoyles? No, definitely not; but he will be reunited with gargoyles!:)))))))))) according to the comments I've seen it will around....episode 56 or something;

    :)

  • Gunter is so adorable

  • who knew santa was so evil

  • one eyed man, one eyed bear, do you think they're related?

  • 4:56-4:49

    DO A BEARELL ROLL!

    sorry, i had to

  • excuse me while i cry.

  • I wonder if they'll ever come to Iceland :D

  • anybody else wandering how it must feel for Elisa to wear the same all these episodes? xD

  • I just love how everyone around the world that they just happen to meet can speak fluent english. XD

  • @guttwins xD yeah

  • @guttwins It's magic.

  • @guttwins

It's a cartoon. Just ignore that fact.

  • I love how Elisa just passes out in 2 sec after Goliath hugs her for warmth. Ug oh well but thanks for the episode.

  • The second I saw the one eyed man I got really excited because I knew who it was. Odin always appears as a one eyed traveler.

  • @Garboth Sorry, meant to give a thumb's up

  • See guys....global warming isn't killing the polar bears....its....GARGOYLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sorry....I couldn't resist....

  • LOL, Gunther? hes Norse, not German!

  • Just give Odin back his eye Goliath

  • @Geoxe333 i dont think he knows its Odin.

  • Why won't Goliath just give Odin back his eye I mean honestly

  • @Geoxe333 Because Goliath is extreamly stubbern

  • Is that Liquid Snake?

  • lol goliath suckered punch the bear at 4:45

  • Yes. Any man who will punch a bear is ok in my book.

  • Yeah, for a second there it was like "I DON'T RECALL POLAR BEARS EXISTING IN NORWAY" and then I realized it only had one eye... D:

  • "He's MINE."

If he says that to you ... Well, guess.

  • More hugging Goliath ... Drool.

  • i know it's old picking on the strange accents of the voice-actors but my norwegian cousins certainly don't sound like that. they barely have an accent at all really. gargoyles is always good though, that type of thing doesn't take away from it

  • lol goliath suckered punch the bear at 4:45 ha ha. How can you call it animal cruiltey when the gargoyles are creatures too just defending themselves?

  • 4:10

    Bronx's is like :FML

    lolz

  • How simple it would've been if the idiot had just said he was Oden and wanted his eye back.

  • @LordNefarius Yeah, really, huh?

  • @LordNefarius He's a Child of Oberon; it's in their DNA to be cryptic and wait until the last minute to reveal their true identities. Besides, Goliath probably would've said no anyway.

  • @ztslovebird That's true. Some Sorcerer could just lie.

  • Wow there is a lot more mythology than I thought. Oh well the journey is realyl interesting and it drives Elisa and Goliath closer, so it can't be all bad ;)

  • hmmmm, if it was me, I would keep some emergency food, bottles of water, sleeping bags, coats, etc in that canoe

  • 3:04 Maza looks like she wants to jump Erik. The only defence I can offer Anshelm is that Sleipner only having four legs is probably because it be difficult to animate.

  • There's no "probably" about it. Greg Weisman has stated that the studio's artists could not figure out how to animate an eight-legged horse, and a four-legged Sleipnir, in his view, was better than no Sleipnir at all.

  • Lol falcon punch at 4:56

  • Polar bear... Gunther... Russian accents... must be Norway! Sleipnir's missing some legs, too.

  • I personally think the Avalon "World Tour" is excellent, it put in some variety!

  • The bear is Odin.

  • "That was no ordinary bear..."

...he stole my picnic basket. *gigglesnort*

  • @KnavishLegna hey there booboo would you like a picnic basket

  • @KnavishLegna I lol'd XD

  • DDoesn't Goliath know Polar Bears are endangered? Sheesh. Lol.

  • Animal cruelty at 4:56 lol

  • hey, if u were being attacked by a bear and had goliath's strength i''m sure u'd do somethin similar.. i know i would...

  • This series is so badass.

I don't understand why there are so many people complaining about the Avalon World Tour and how it was "too long". I thought it was one of the best parts of the series.

  • Personally, I loved how they incorporated the different mythologies and cultures of the world. I learned a lot from this show when I was younger. When I was in college, I was surprised to find that I already knew a lot about mythology - and it was all thanks to not only Gargoyles, but a lot of the 80s and 90s cartoons.

  • Funny you should say that. I recommended shows like this to my students and they usually ended up with a 3.8 average or higher. Very good series.

  • Whoa, it's Cam Clarke.

  • Odin was the leader of the Scandinavian pantheon. Which includes Norway, Sweden, Denmark and maybe Finland.

  • The one eyed bear, i loved it.

  • Santa Claus demands the eye of Odin!

  • @Scobragon I bet that's the actual Odin;

  • @bbphnix duh that why he's got a missing EYE= eye of odin

  • @Scobragon Goalith should have taded the eye of odin for the parka. and before you ask me why i thinkl that? it's because that was one ordnary old man. that old man is ODIN himself asking Goalith to trade the eye od odin for a parka so Elisa can be warm in the cold weather of norway. it's a smart trade if you ask me. Now if Goal;ith had held the eye over the old man he would have seen odin himself in the eye. after all the other name for4 the eye of odin is the eye of truth.

  • Wow, I forgot how quickly Odin put the cards on the table just to have his eye returned. Talk about being upfront!

  • how long are they going to be in that damn boat

  • seriously! Some of these adventures are good but they've went on for almost an entire normal season of television
