Looks to me like the cops were in the right. Suspect had refused to be pulled over, the cops ended the pursuit with a PIT maneuver and the suspect exited the vehicle pointing a weapon at them. Looks to me like the cops were in the right. Suspect had refused to be pulled over, the cops ended the pursuit with a PIT maneuver and the suspect exited the vehicle pointing a weapon at them. Does not matter who shot first, you take police on a chase and then jump out of your car pointing a weapon at them and you are dead.

I dont know a Thing about Mr. Diamond. I have seen a few suicides BY Police. This is the only one where the person is actually trying to get away, even aster raising the gun. The others I've seen, they just raise their gun and stand there. Just a bit odd.

as usual no one knows what happened prior to the video. This man had committed a crime, was armed and dangerous, and as an Officer I would never second guess the actions of a felow Officer if I wern't there. This guy, regardless of what he had done or was thinking got out of his vehicle and pointed his shotgun at Officers, the end. We don't wait around to see if he really "means it or is just upset"! We want to go home each night not have someone notify our family that we aren't!

@BXAssasinatorXS The problem is that you are seeing it from a video AFTER the fact. It's EASY to pass a judgement. At the moment, the police did not know what his motives were and if he was going to suddenly snap and try to take out as many as possible while they were in pursuit. They want to go home and be with their families at night and this guy made the mistake of POINTING the weapon in the officers direction (if he fired or not DOES NOT MATTER).

I had a friend who shot a 16yr old kid who robbed a convience store with an air pistol that was an exact replica of the same glock pistols we carry. The kid survived but is now facing 25 to life. The family sued and lost. Multiple cops will resond to situations like this. Once again not an ambush.
