Why has the 85-89 version not been released on DVD! Think you get it on ioffer but it's TV vhs recorded and transferred to DVD. I can't believe series one from 85 is not out...
my pastor used this last scene as an analogy of life and faith an how what if what you have been holidng on to results into a dead thing and when you flick on the light its too late...that was used for our easter service I have to see this movie.
Great mystery and murder stories, such as this, often end this way, as the "anti-hero" usually discovered his "perfect plan" had "one fatal flaw" that literally sealed his doom...
My friend told me about this like 5 years ago, I've randomly remembered the tale throughout the years but never remembered what it was originally from, thanks to you, and wikipedia, i now know, thankew :D
Good grief...I thought the '80s color remake with Season Hubley was the first time this story was told; never knew it first appeared in 1964 with a different cast! But it was a great episode nonetheless!
I loved this episode....literally just talking about this with a friend and found the clip! Classic buried alive fear come true. If u can find this episode somwhere, worth watching!

This episode featured in any nightmare I had as a child. I'm convinced I want to be cremated when I die so there is no chance of being buried alive!

A classic episode. This B&W show was an hour long, but the 80s remake told the story better and was a lot more chilling in a half-hour!

I saw this episode on tv.Season Hubley.
I did not see Edd Byrnes played the character,
but it seems more believable and macabre than
a woman playing it.Men tend to do really evil things. Thanks for posting.I would love to see Edd complete episode.

Cool episode , Stephen Mcnally was great too. Edd Byrnes showed depth to his performance. I don't know if it's available on dvd or not.

Thanks very much for the clip. Edd Byrnes was a good dramatic actor - - it's too bad he didn't get enough roles where he could show it.
YouTunes needs more Edd Byrnes!
