Whatever ytgkvxs negative feelings towards myself (Liz) are, they can hardly apportion blame to the rest of the M.E. sufferers and viewers of these videos, who cant have done anything to upset anybody else, through their bringing of this hate campaign into the public arena. Irrespective of a sufferer being able to defraud Prof. A. Pinching into giving a false diagnosis, I can do nothing about being mixed race! :o(

You really should work on your grammar and spelling. Im not a brilliant speller myself, so I copy/paste from Microsoft Word, of which I own a fully legitimate copy. If you dont know how to do this, try highlight-control/C-place-curs­or-control/V: Richard probably knows how to do this. What motivated you post this gratuitously offensive remark? Recent research has shown a link with a seriously nasty retrovirus. Denying the existence of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis will have ramifications for the general public, in relation to blood stocks, and breast feeding mothers. Imagine what the world would be like if existence of the AIDS retrovirus was denied.

I have to wonder how come people who don't suffer from a chronic illness or syndrome must poo-poo away its existence? It just shows that ignorance is bliss. If the persons who are writing these false statements actually took a moment and researched what they are saying, then they too would see past the fog the large insurance companies and psychiatrists are throwing out there! I moved away from Baird House just to get away from the lies, animosity and harrassment. You've made me give up my home and I'm not there anymore. I've never been a yuppie, I was a special needs teacher. I've been housebound with ME & fibromyalgia for 21 years since contracting flu.

This whole 'yuppie flu' & 'chronic fatigue syndrome' nonsense was put about by the psychiatrists working for the large insurance companies that wanted the neurological illness ME reclassified as a mental disorder so they didn't have to pay out compensation .The psychiatrists have taken every penny of taxpayers research and treatment funding & given us nothing

This clip, as with others here, is from BBC's Frontline program (1990s) where Dr. Ann Mc Intire is invited to express her views about how badly M. E. sufferers are treated: Because the medical community refuses to accept Dr. Costa's (and other medics) findings as a diagnostic test, it's open for any ham physician to throw whatever ill contrived explanation they want at this serious condition in a free for all. It's a scandal!

Chronic stress may PUSH you into a state of exhaustion ...But it will NOT cause M.E. OMG. M.E. is caused by A VIRAL INFECTION..Not stress. Stress only exacerbates the demands on the body.....If hard physical work was the cause, then all that jumping rope I did as a kid is what caused my current condition. Knowing what causes the illness is VITAL. I want to beat the truth to a pulp on this illness. I want it UNDERSTOOD PERFECTLY. I don't want just an ignorant cure. I want an absolute!!

Can I ask you when the Spect scan one dates to and whether you know how many Spect scanners there are in the NHS - I have been told there are very few.

The way we have all been treated is a disgrace.

Far as I know, MRI scanners, where Spect scans done, cost lots to install (£ millions) NHS have no shortage: most big hospitals have. They're backlogged by folk who self-abuse through excessive using harmful consumables: examples, alcohol/smoking/high fat diet. If you have illness not self-caused, you don't get. Moreso, psychiatrists veto: not wanting to loose face, as also do some GPs: please see other vid on conspiracy. (SERIOUSLY!) The scans featured here were early 90s. Thankyou lots! :o)

I originally got sick following a long phase of extremely hard work coupled with mounting depression, which may have exposed a genetic chink in my armour to infection. There is some truth I think in the journalist's hypothesis that chronic exhaustion causes M.E. in certain, vulnerable individuals. Of course, we all want a cure, not endless debates about what causes it :)

Hello Macmador. I've been fundraising involved for years and 'origins/what causes it' type questions are always raised in the process. Before we get a cure we need to undo the reputation damage that's been perpetrated against the illness by psychiatrists serving as covert Govt. agents: Their purpose is to deprive funds for research/sufferers' support. People can get better from M.E. if allowed but there're never any provisions, hence, conspiracy! nothing less! Believe!!!!! Hope U get better.

@Macmador It's not difficult to conceive that certain situations may be considered risk factors and may increase the likelihood of ME becoming chronic, but these cannot be connected directly to causality. I.e., a person is probably more likely to be susceptible to the pathogens that cause these illnesses when they have been more active than usual or under stress but that does not mean that the stressful situation caused the problem. Many ME Px do not have these situations when they get sick.

i totally agree - if they started helping people instead of ignoring the condition, such as by offering ct scans (everyone else gets them) then they would possibly be able to rehabilitate people back into some fullfilling role in society.
