  • Would 90% alcohol work?

  • how many drops of lube per bearing u reccomend?

  • @theblissster 2 drops

  • wat bearings r those?

  • @Schwarzenhaagenner tight enough so that the wheel wheel spins good and the wheels dont have to much space to move.

  • great video, wut song do u have playing in the video?

  • @carnivore171 kids" by mgmt

  • How tight should you tighten the nut?

  • Dude, if I hear this song in another skate video I'm going to f*ckin' lose it!

  • No Spacers?

  • can baby oil be a replacement for paint thinner?

  • What els works instead of paint thinner ?

  • u forgot the spacers ...

  • Are you sure paint thinner works

  • what was that at 3:10

  • @8ball951 it is a can of compressed air

  • -pause the video

    -new Tab

-Look up Young Blood: The Naked and Famous

    -play at the same time

    -Enjoy while learning :)

  • @driaslow: yea i friggin love hotsteeze

  • Yup cookmonster 789 i say that silicone should be used because its meant for dirty conditions and lubricates it

  • 10w-30 motor oil works well too for lube.

  • After doing this my bearings make scratching noises. I have speed washers between my bearings should i lube them or something?

  • Can you use paint thinner to clean the bolts, speed spacers/washer and small ring washers?

  • What would be better; a little pressurized computer cleaner type thing or hair dryer?

  • Another question how do you clean speed washers/spacers and do you lube them or something? xP

  • My Paint thinner says its low odour and its in a plastic bottle would it still work:P just wanna be sure just got my tan tien almost a month ago and i gotta clean my bearings and i finally found a bottle somewhere in my dads workshop.

  • acetone is the best do NOT do wd40 ever ever ever unless ur poor but then you would not see this if you were so yeah

  • WHY USE PAINT THINNER?????

  • pig ceramic bearings????

  • song?

  • @imaporchmonkey2 "kids" by mgmt

  • @driaslow: yea hotsteeze is so sick i use it to find new tricks and shit

  • Awesome i bought bones reds bearings and speed cream skate lube but i lost two of those washer bearing spacers and i was wondering if you can buy them online and also how important they are

  • @JamesonLB Speed washers are pretty important. They keep your wheels spinning long and it gives some relaxation to your bearings so there not so restrained. I think you can get them at any skate shop. I live in denver so i would go somwhere like bc surf and sport

  • whats the song and dont tell me its opposite of adults or anything that has to do with that song

  • @RapIsToday MGMT - Kids (i think) :)

  • why is it tht he didnt use spacers?

  • @loveisforthepatient what kind of wheels do you have?

  • @driaslow: wait what? is it a website?

  • At 2:16 I thought you were going to just pour the paint thinner onto the workbench

  • whats better to use, paint thinner or rubbing alcohol

  • Why don't you just pay someone to do it

  • @JandMBB THIS IS A VOCAL COVER. THE NORMAL ONE IS A LOT BETTER. ITS KIDS BY MGMT. oops sorry i had caps.

  • Hey I got abec bearings and they have like something tht wnt let me take the caps off wht do I do?

  • i like the song

  • Would like regular 3 in 1 oil work for lubing bearings?

  • @TheWjl1234 no dont use tht

  • damn i finally landed this. logged it on hotsteeze . com.

  • how important is it to use spacers on your board?

  • is it ok if you dont have bearing lube? also can you use acetone instead of paint thinner

  • GUN OIL AND SPEED CREAM ARE THE SAME!!! It's what I use!!! It works great!!!

  • Would Lube For Yo-Yo's Work Instead Of Bearing Lube

  • @BreazyADAMS76 samething preety much, it would work

  • I know WD40 is horrible, BUT there are no skate shops near where I live! I just ordered some Bones Speed Creme off of the internet but shipping will take 4 days... I need some sort of lube to get me through those days!! Can I get away with using WD40 temporarily? Anyone?

  • @Khronicks better to wait than risk damaging your bearings completely

  • @SupremeMattster Thanks very much, but I saw in a forum that silicone lubricant works ok

  • What was the spray you were using at 3:13

  • @Onetreevids air-in-a-can, haha it's compressed air

  • wd 40 good job not to use it finaly some one not stupid to use wd 40

  • does it matter how you put the barings back in

  • is silicate based oil good for bearings? its like a really light thin oil that i use for everything and works good.

  • How often do you do this?

  • @loopypent When there is a lot of dirt on top of your bearings just check every now and then and if you see alot of dirt then clean everything in your bearings and lube em. Maybe once a month if you longboard pretty much daily. Also if you realise your loosing speed or you hear scratching clean them it doesnt matter as long as you dry them you can do it daily but thats useless.

  • @loopypent every 1-2 months

  • @loopypent after about 50 hours of skating

  • hmm i have those exact vxb bearings in my blue boca tightwalls. boards been ridin a bit slow lately been tryin to find out a way to clean em bearings.

  • Good music, ahh MGMT

  • you guys say use paint thinner? bones says do not use paint thinner? does the paint thinner work? thanks @bustinboards

  • @Stoked2Longboard because it removes the dirt and grime. you can also use aecetone or mineral spirits. you can find them at any home improvement store.

  • forgott the spacer's ?

  • is kerosene okay to wash them in?

  • does zumiez have bearing lube because thats the only skate shop around here

  • @ThatOneGuy1027 Yeah i actually got mine from there a couple months ago, it's called speed cream its by Bones 5$

  • i just got done cleaning bearings on my loaded changra and landyachtz switchblade, and one bearing from each board from back right wheel doesnt spin at all. what causes this? it cant be a coincedence.

  • One quick question? I have abec 5 greaseballs that came stock with my sector 9 BHNC and i cant pop off my ring thats on my bearing with a razor blade...are these meant to not come out? i cant get them off

  • Nevermind, haha saw the end of the video:P

  • What is he spraying his bearings with? Duster?

  • Kids by MGMT except its ruined from the original song here

  • whats the name of the song?

  • whays the song?

  • so happy i went with bustin over loaded

  • How often should I clean my bearings?

  • whats the song ?

  • @live4pussy kids-MGMT :D

  • when i brought the board i didn't get a skate tool and i cant find one in any skate shops so is there anything else i can use?

  • @amitlimbu good old wrench

  • Personally I clean using WD-40 and leave my bearings dry. Works pretty damn well thus far.

  • my bearings dont have that little green snap off thing is that okay? is there osmething i need to take off before i soak in paint thinner?

  • @playwithmeskinler the rubber covering? well then yours should have a metal covering, get that off and then clear it, or else the dirt/dust can't come out :D (btw im not sure how to take metal shields off (youtube/google that), i have only used the rubber shields

  • i just tried using white vinegar. it was horrible. never do it.

  • does it matter wich way u put the bearings in

  • @screamingmimi456 shield out to make sure no dust/dirt/bugs... yes bugs... go in

  • would silicone spray work?

  • how do you open abec-5 gravity bearings? ive already gotten them off of the board and wiped them off, but i cant open them. should i just get new ones?

  • Could you like possibly do a "how to" on that rack thing that holds your board because i really want to make one or even just do a vid that shows like a 360 view of it. PLEASE!

  • can i have the bearing grease t-shirt?

  • Would it matter how long you have the bearings in the paint thinner?

  • @yogaza2 dont just leave it in, shake the bottle you have it in for about 5 min, rxn will proceed faster..

  • @Skataelan Thanks!

  • I never thought of cleaning bearings tht way. does paint thinner do the same cleaning as the bones bearing cleaner?

  • @AntSalmonn 90% alcohol, paint thinner, and bearing cleaner all do the same thing, the Bones kit just gives you a cooler way to do it. Alcohol/paint thinner is free or cheaper if you just have it lying around your house.

  • @dland95 I used 95% alch first, it did a good job, ubt then I used acetone (nail polish remover) afterwards on the same bearings I just cleaned and I got even dirtier fluid out of my bottle, so acetone is def the way to go

  • i got this speed lube for "skateboard" bearings and used it on my "longboard" and now my bearings dont spin "at all" like 1 second is this suppose to happen right after u put it on and i only put 2 drops on each side so i dont know wats wrong

  • @livessr

did you lose your speed rings or did you tighten the nut too much?

  • Could you spin the wheel and add the lube near the nut and let it spin then wipe away all the excess grime? Would it work, or would it do nothing? Also, my longboard trucks are squeaking. What do I do? I have many other questions about this so... How do bushings go on in the proper way? Just take off the truck and add the bushings and the washers or whatever there called on either side, then put in the kingpin? Please respond. How often do I need to do maintenance? Thanks.

  • @Mattmeo11

About that squeaking, is it when you lean and turn on your board? If so, this usually just requires a pivot cup lubrication(something thick like vaseline). The pivot cup is the small black ring that you can see which is closer to the deck. Its pretty easy, wipe it out with with qtips then apply a small amount of lubricant to th entire inside of the cup. dont try to remove the cup.

  • i don't have paint thinner but would methylated spirits or kerosene work?

  • would a hair dryer be okay when drying?

  • im working on some Abec5 sector9 bearings and i cant seem to get the shield off is there a way that i can get it off the bearing is in bad sorts and refuses to spin whatsoever at this point, im afraid to break the shield at this point so if i could get some advice that would be pretty awesome thanks

  • @hollandben35 me to i am having trouble too!!

  • @hollandben35 Try using a thin knife or something to pry it off. Some of the shields actually have grooves in them to keep the balls bearings in place, almost like a crown upside down, with the balls filling the grooves. So you have to try different spots to pry from around the shield

  • What truck is this //???

  • can you use oil? as in cooking oil : P

  • Hi! Good tutorial. I have a question though: is it necessary to loob the axles??

  • if i get some of the swiss bearings from your site, will it come with enough bearings for the hole longboard while i am using pink 7 os?

  • can i use brake fluid??

  • my bearing balls popped out when i was shaking the bottle T_T buy news ones it seems...

  • 99% isopropyl alcohol works if you can not find paint thinner. but make sure it is 99% because anything less then that can leave moisture in your bearings and rust them.

  • song? song?¿ song?!¿! Song!!!!... Please :D

  • @allen2688 It's a cover of "Kids" by MGMT. Or do you mean you want to know who did the cover? ...Cause I don't know, lol. maybe someone else can answer.

  • i will be sure to do that... i got my maestro deck like 2 days ago and its better then my Apex 37 !!!! i love it

  • ahhhh fuck it im just gonna buy new bearings

  • @TheHaiiiJuan man thats lazzyness.... you can also use rubbing alchol

  • Dudes, How often do I need to clean my bearings?

  • @Mekhael12 Don't ever clean your bearings. Then, right before the Broadway Bomb, get new bearings.

Otherwise, I'd say clean your bearings after it rains or when they are starting to run like crap. It's all feel; you don't need to put them on a schedule.

  • @Mekhael12 about 30 miles on berrings you should clean them or every two months

  • I just dip mines in carbinator cleaner and boom, done.

  • thank god for, biltins! it's such a pain in the ass to take off and put back 16 bearing shields.

  • Ha. I just cleaned my bearings on my bustin cigar exactly like this video said(except I used nail polish remover like you mentioned below). By the way, i love this board man. keep it up bustin.

  • can u use gasoline instead of paint thinner?

  • wd40 is not for bearings.

bearing lube is cheap and easy to find and a bottle will last you forever! get some and never worry about it again

  • @bustinboards can you find bearing lube at say a home depot or a hardware store?

  • @bustinboards what i dois use wd 40 to get the rust out then kube it to keep i good :)

  • @bustinboards wd40 is for metal lubrication

ball bearings are metal therfore, wd40 is for bearings

  • @Cookmonster789 hey man, WD40 is Water Displacing compound #40. It is made to get rid of water and then it evaporates. Putting WD40 in your bearings will clean them out, but leave them dry and un-lubricated. It will also deteriorate Urethane if it comes into contact with it, so it can damage your wheels as well... dont use WD40 kids...

  • @allisforme using it consistently and in right amounts is just fine

  • @Cookmonster789

if you then follow up with a lubricant which will keep the bearings loose then yes, you can use it to get water out of your bearings.

  • @allisforme Hey dude i found some low odour paint thinner in a plastic bottle like thing not in tin would it work?

  • I bought bones Swiss 6 competition skate bearings recently from Amazon and they say it takes about an hour of riding until they break in. But I've ridden for longer than an hour and they are still even slower than my old reds are, They came already in bones speed cream, if anybody knows why reply, they aren't on a long board just a normal skateboard.

  • @xvxjulienxvx have you tightened the nut too much, if its too tight it will prevent the bearings from spinning

  • Hey, i recently got some abec 5 swis, and they dont seem to be as good as i hoped, it has a snap ring so i could take them apart, do you think this process would help?

  • i think wd 40 is lighter. and good bearing lube is heavier. not sure but droping speed cream in is def different than hittin it with wd40

  • @bustinboards wd40 is water based isnt it? thats a really bad idea right?

  • @bustinboards wd40 isn't a lubricant, it's a solvent. It actually just gets rid of oil and lubricant. It does leave a film so it works as a lubricant on stuff that doesn't rub very much, but for bearings it's definitely not adequate.

  • @bustinboards WD40 is water based which fucks ur beaings up

  • @Skataelan Are you fuckning stupid? WD40... WD stands for Water Displacement, So there is no WATER in it, Yes there may be luqid but there is no h20

  • Can I use the lube I use to fuck my gf in the ass for bearings too? like actually im serious

  • @Skataelan nope cuz this one you use is water based ;)

  • @bustinboards WD40 leaves a filmy residue that collects dust and dirt and will actually slow the bearing down more.

  • why not WD40?

  • @keatonbamf

wd40 will actually dry out the bearing very quickly

and it wont be a smooth ride

  • Nice, cheers dude!

  • nice MGMT tunes

  • awsome song (Kids- MGMT) thanks for the help

  • how do you dispose of the chemicals?

  • @w4r7 in an environmentally conscious way

  • @bustinboards nah dip! sherlock

  • @bustinboards and can you please explain how you dispose of chemicals in an environmentally way? cause i cant .

  • duh

  • @w4r7 haha who are u ?!

  • @paulantoinep what do you mean? in a joe public kind of way or in the regard of genuinely inquiring about the disposal of toxicity down the drain?

  • @w4r7 haha I don't understand im Quebecois haha ! But I will love to go longboarding in New york !

  • @w4r7 bustin doesnt know what there talking about, if your going to dispose of the chemicals then dump'm in your local lake or better yet go to antartica and put the CHEMICALS in some random polar bears drinking water. i mean hey its eventually gunna get there anyway might as well make it quick and painless rather then dragging it out. hoped this helped. you fucking retarded hippopotamus

  • @scangaa thanks for your sound advice on saving the planet...your mom and i should have started it by not having you...but then again, she wanted to get my balls resting on her chin by a retarded hippopotamus...and yeah son...i was fucking.

  • @w4r7

just google "how to dispose of paint thinner"
