first i've composed the tune on reason, then i imported my beat into the kaosspad before starting them both at the same time. I only play on the beat, using the KP3.
I like the jam, sounds real nice. A few questions though. I have a KP3 and I want to use it for things like this. I see that you have the drum loop playing in smple bank A, and then you said you have the mac playing the other music. Now is the other music from the mac running through the Kaoss Pad? Or is it going into a different channel in a mixer? Also, how were you able to sync up the tempo of your song and the KP? Did you do this manually, or is there a way to do it with a MIDI cable?
In this configuration, Macbook goes to mixer's channel 1, KP3 goes to mixer channel 2. I had to start Reason and the KP3 the same time manually, since Reason doesn't do MIDI-out, and KP3 has no "clock start" signal.
Hey will... so what exactly was the connection set up to make the kp do this?? are there any alternate set ups to either make the kp do this... or maybe something different..???
As said in the info-text, the KP3 plays an sampled beat and allows effect processing on this beat, while a Reason song is playing on the Mac. Basically, you have to connect the KP3 and the computer's outputs on a mixing console.
Hi, this is a drumloop i've made with Reason, then stored into the KP3. Actually the KP3 has a couple of built-in drum-machine programs, but it's a little poor : one synth kick, one synth snare and a few patterns to play with.
hey wondering if you mean the beat is a sample you put on the koas pad, or does the kaos pad have some drum sounds on it? thanx and good demo.. peace.
how can i convert something i recorded into mp3

Quite easy and pleasant, it's like a pinball game : you're learning the rules while playing it.

how do you play this one? are there notes on that pad or something?

can the kp3 be connected to an amplifier??

very nice tunes indeed.
I guess you can use that as an external effect processor, right? Like, I put my sampler as audio in and process the sounds through KP?
casicadaminuto 3 years ago
Some idiot gave you a thumbs down.. yes you could do that.. I do it. Its great for drums like he just did.. synths anything that a soundsource.

when you plug it into the computer via usb, can you add samples like you would a removable disk?
Jakerpoo 4 years ago
Yes, and the Korg program that allows all these operations is very nice. Check Korg's website.

i got kp3 last night but i cant make reason 4 to record the beats coming out of kp3. how do u do it, please?
ywec 4 years ago
Reason can't record anything. Use Audacity.
williamlamy 4 years ago
Reason can record anything made in reason, and it can export to Cubase SX.

This is awesome - you just persuaded me to buy a KP3! H

Do you have this synched with up with MIDI?
deadredeyes 4 years ago
No I couldn't. KP3 does not send any "start" midi signal, and Reason hasn't midi out at all. Cruel world ;)

wow nice music :)

i really love the way u recorded it with the effect name scrolling through.... good job!

if the KP3 is hooked up to your synth, then is the sound coming from the keyboard? did u record the beat on the keyboard?
UnRePeNtAnt101 4 years ago
The KP3 loops and tweaks the beat, Reason 3 on my Macbook are doing the music.
williamlamy 4 years ago
did you make the drum loop with redrum? how did u export the loop to the pad?
Ellearea 5 years ago
Yes it's been made with Reason's redrum module, then exported to WAV loop, stored onto a SD-Card and finally loaded in the KP3.
williamlamy 5 years ago
Wow wow, that song is really impressive.
It make me remember 'La Teja Pride', a Trip Hop group.
Nice, very ambiental & with a lot of sensations.
Excelent.
