Okay,just to straighten this out, because no one seems to get what this song is about.

Firstly, Matt is being SARCASTIC. He is pretending to be a hipster/indie hypocrite, who wants to be seen as different and so becomes hipster, but by doing so defeats the purpose of being different, as hipster is now the cool thing that everyone does.

"it's so easy just to walk in line like all the rest" shows a hipster attitude and "you're so cool" and "I wanna be just like you" is Matt being sarcastic and
