kay was jealous of jill because she had beauty and youth. jill became hateful towards katharine because she envied her wealth and power. deep down both these women i believe truly loved each other. they were just too stubborn to admit their owen imperfections

i used to feel for kay chancellor when i heard about the kay-phillip-jill storyline. however, i changed my mind. katharine always blamed jill for the destruction of her marriage but the old bag never understood she was the she herself was the culprit! She was promiscuous (sleeping with her stableboys), and a miserable and hateful lush. I she truly cared about phillip as she had claimed she would've got help years before

No one can ever really replace the Original Jill Foster. She created the Role and played it the best way possible. Jess Walton is awesome but you cannot help feel something is missing when Katherine and the Jess Walton's Character Jill square off. It says a lot about Brenda Dickson's Portrayal of Jill. They had many yrs together and some great scenes that were the foundation of the Y&R as we know it. I miss the old Jill

Such a haunting scene...with the music, the scenery reminiscent of a mental institution (it was just Memorial Hospital--or whatever they call it in GC, wasn't it?), and the shot of Kay yelling at Jill "YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS, JILL!" behind the swinging hospital doors. Great, yet haunting, scene!

Jill wasn't greedy back then. She was actually a young woman who had ambition-wanted more out of life. I really think she & Phillip had a beautiful romance. Kay was the greedy one. She said she didn't want the Chancellor Mansion during the divorce settlement & after Phillip's death she fought like tooth & nail to keep it from Jill.

Wow I love these old youtubes vids of Katherine. In everyone there is a close up of Katherine saying how shes going to get Jill or her screaming at Jill telling her how shes gonna pay. I love it!!! Shes much more stable in the years I have watch ynr.

I'm so glad Katharine has matured. She really was a very ill woman back then. She did indeed kill Phillip by driving off  that cliff whenn he rejected her offer of a reconciliation. I never understood why she was never prosecuted for this crime.

Y&R is number one for a very good reason: It has remained true to its origin. And the fact that a mature characters are still front and center should give a hint to the shows that are struggling how they can salvage their shows.

Bond Gideon was on after Dickson left the first time, before Adair... but she appeared only for a few weeks. Melinda Fee only played Jill for 3 or 4 eppies when Brenda was sick. And Dickson started out in 73 as a brunette, it was sometime in the summer of 74 that she went red (I remember the day it happened, my mother HATED it), and then back brunette again in 76. Dickson sported her natural color through her second stint in the 80's.

It was funny how when Jill was nice she was a red head. Soon after Phillip died she became a brunette and turned into a vixen. It's like she became permanently bitter after Phillip's death.

For me Y&R was at its best back in the early days.Like when Leslie the pianist brokedown on stage after jealous sister Lories manipulation.Leslies recovery hindered by Lories dirty book 'My sisters shadow'.Jill & Katherine arguing & dropping the baby.Lorie slamming Leslies hand before a concert.Jill celebrating Katherines death in bed with Kays husband Derek and Katherine walkin in on them.Jill shocked beyond belief...lol those were the days

My earliest memories were when the mother of Lance Prentice jumped out a high rise window to her death pretending Lori pushed her to get even with her for something,and Nikki Reed was being stalked by a psycho who watched her through binoculars.And I seem to remember Jill pretending to be pregnant by her own mothers boyfriend Stuart Brooks

Come to think of it I remember Jeanne Coopers replacement for a few days also.I remember she looked & sounded nothing like Jeanne.I also remember when Deborah Adair was hired back for 1 episode in 1996,and then again for a whole week later on while Brenda was off sick.I kind of hoped Deborah would have been her replacement instead of Jess since she played Jill when I first started watching Y&R.But I loved Brenda as well in the role.

Yes I read that on wikipedia Judith Chapman was a fill-in for Jess! and it's funny Judith's portrayal of Gloria does remind me a lot of the old schemer Jill once was

uuum,Bond Gideon played Jill briefly before Deborah Adair I've been looking for pics of BG but can't find any yet.Also Judith Chapman who now plays Gloria replaced Jess Walton for a few days in the late 80's.

I reacon if I ran a soap opera I wouldn't replace anyone.I'd write them out instead jus to make it more realistic...

I don't remember Judith playing her in 1989 but that would be funny to see.I do remember Deborah coming back as "Jill" in 1986 for 1 episode while Brenda was sick and then for a whole week.And a year later Brenda was let go and Jess was playing the role which really bugged me because I liked Deborah & Brenda way better.

I looked up Melinda Fee out of curiosity and found a you tube clip of her.She played Jill briefly in 1984 which is odd since Brenda returned near the end of 1983.I wonder why Brenda was was off so quick after returning.

Melinda reminded me of Brenda.Similar hair style and voice.She would have made a good replacement in 1987.

Katherine also went off the wagon in 2004! there was one time in 99when she was going to drink but didn't! Kay also battled cancer as well!
