The libido is a powerful force for creativity and serves as the well of every human emotion and its connection to the physical body. At least I think that makes sense. If you're sexually active, and/or experience sexual arousal and attraction, than you're not asexual. You're a sexual person choosing to not indulge, right? That would be like calling someone who refuses to open their eyes.. blind. They CAN see, if they want. But they choose not to. On the other hand, some people actually cannot see, it's physically impossible; they are literally blind. Similarly, one who has no sexual arousal to begin with, is asexual. lol

People who experience no sexual attraction are asexual. You can still become physically aroused. It doesn't have to do with physical arousal. Some asexuals will masturbate, they just do not think of people when they do it, it's more autoerotic. They are able to become physically aroused.

All human behavior, whether typical or atypical, can be related to a particular physiology and genetic predisposition. So surely, I wouldn't deny Asexuals when they say that their "orientation (or rather lack thereof)" is not a choice. On the other hand, there must be something physiologically different about people who experience no sexual-drive. I'm not saying bad, or abnormal, or anything like that. But there are definitely some genetic differences between Asexuals and the majority of the human population. To put it mildly, Asexuality is certainly a biological anomaly, and should be researched more.

Well, asexuals experience physical arousal, some at least, so it's not like a physical issue like a arousal issue (not being able to get an erection etc) Just the fact that you have that physical arousal but have no want/need to take it into intercourse. Hmm.. okay. From watching the videos here and listening to some asexuals speak, I got the overall impression that the attraction (sexual) wasn't there in the first place. I suppose it's different for everyone. But one guy in the video said, straight up, that there is no arousal, that he doesn't feel sexual attraction at all, ever. For those who DO experience arousal and attraction - well, they aren't asexual; they're homo or heterosexual, depending on preference; but choose celibacy. Non-sexual.

On the other hand, from the perspective of biology, the entire purpose of our existence, as physical-genetic organisms, is to reproduce. A huge chunk of our behavior, psychology and physiology is adapted to Sexual-Section. In terms of Evolution, the "fittest" creatures are those who can reproduce the most and have the healthiest-fittest offspring.

No. Some will have sex occasionally, not everyone, say if they have a sexual partner. They don't really like sex, or want to have it, but they will sometimes depending on the circumstances. Again, it's not an inability to have sex or procreate. There's a lot of divisions and definitions in the asexual community so people can feel comfortable with different terms that suit them.
