You know what really really pisses me off? These guys that when they clearly knock someone out you see them just click and they get twice as aggresive, and start going in punching twice as hard and twice as fast. What the fuck is that about?
Just wish theyd show that aggresion when the guy was awake, but the second hes knocked out, attacking them like that can do some serious damage. Show a little respect.
@NicosMind if you had ever been in a real fight then you would realize that sometimes your anger gets away from you and all you want is to bust the fuck out of the other guys face for hitting you. these guys aren't pussies, they all know they're going to get cheap hits sometimes, if they had a problem with getting hit they wouldn't be in the mma.

Are there any mma fighters here that can explain to me why some of these fighters keep hitting when their opponents are obviously knocked out and defenseless? Are they caught up in the moment or are they just being assholes? Or are they ensuring that the opponent doesn't get back up? Just asking because some of these guys look like they would intentionally beat the other guy dead if the ref didn't stop them.
@RadioPops It's not their job to stop the fight. Their job is to keep punching the other guy until he doesn't get up any more. It's the referee's responsibility to ensure that the other guy doesn't get seriously hurt because he can't defend himself.
@ipwn56 when ur in that ring shit gets intense and if u have any experience on u youll know that unless the other guy is new to it both of u are gonna hit the ground a good amount of times, once they hit the ground the guy standing could be at a disadvantage, so those few extra punches are just to make sure, now if he's throwing anymore 5 he's an asshole or he's taking his anger and frustrations on his opponent

Yeah, depends on who you fight. Obviously, it will be very effective against the average untrained joes. I've got a friend who once fought off 3 drunken assailants thanks to his boxing training.

I don't know if you know much about Wing Chun, but that is a very affective fighting style, it's about speed and power....

Hitting someone while they're down dizzy and unable to defend themselves is lame, respecting them and letting them get back up before attempting to hit them again shows honor.

@edstar83 I can see what your driving at with the whole hitting them while they're down but I for one absolutely LOVE the sport of MMA and I would much rather get ground and pounded as oppose to getting knocked down repeatedly and let back up which could in most cases lead to brain damage...and for what? honor? man gimmie my damn check lol

@KnockedCloud the reason why I said that is because I would rather take a beating for a few seconds then last a lifetime with brain damage, I mean is that so hard to understand? and plus ALOT of the time in mma the guy who just got knocked out will most likely stay on the ground because it has alot to do with the gloves, in boxing they're fighting with huge ol' cushions on their hands so the other guy is bound to get up again..

i just thought maybe you would rather be allowed to stand up and giving another chance to beat them... you have a bigger chance to get brain damage if you a getting hammerfisted on the ground than getting hit while standing up......

Why? watch boxing, even if you are knocked down you have to stand up and keep fighting, and you get hit repeatedly, stand up repeatedly, look at Muhammad Ali, even the guys as elusive as him, get parkinson. Dude, next time at least learn the death rate between mma and boxing, there are death report in boxing every year.

@DrJinIchi i am open minded dude,i understand that everyone has different fighting styles and in different martial arts or fighting styles there is different rules, stuff like bujutsu or ninjutsu it's all about defeating your opponent in fastest possible way, no matter what. i understand that MMA is a mixed martial arts, let's say *sport*but i don't understand why they hammerfist as soon as the other opponent goes down, fighting like that is just what street fighters do to win a fight

@DrJinIchi these guys are supposed to be mixed martial artists not *he's on the ground get him* i just think that isn't strong. these guys are strong and stuff but not very smart. they just want their money and to become famous, i don't praise martial arts blindly, it has helped me through the years against many people and also through my daily life, MMA is just somewhere where you can show how strong you are and collect money.

@DrJinIchi if you really are a Thai and then i guess you know Muay Thai, that is about finding your inner strength and your inner peace, that isn't about smashing your opponents head in, like these guys are, most of these guys use only boxing and some kick-boxing, only some actually know the advanced styles like Muay Thai or the jutsu's. I don't know if you know much about Wing Chun, but that is a very affective fighting style, it's about speed and power....

@62beansgoon I'd never fight for money even if I got paid for getting my ass kicked. But there is a difference from deliberately trying to hurt someone in a fight, and showing whos the best. Hitting someone while they're down dizzy and unable to defend themselves is lame, respecting them and letting them get back up before attempting to hit them again shows honor.
