@flob53 Like you failed to learn any other language except your main one, you proud english teacher!! But a good lesson for that europian wanna be, appreciate.
today in Norway I saw a band VERY similiar like this in the middle age festival. And they were from Sweden. I THINK this is the same band. The band that I saw is called Pretrak or something.
@Galenthias I've been to that restaurant! It was the summer of '06 and I tried to record it as well but the poor candle lighting made my video quality impossible to see. There were also different musicians that played back then. Thanks for posting the video and the name of it though. I couldn't remember. Unless there is another Medieval restaurant in Gamla Stan. lol.
Not bad at all! I'm in the middle of making a Medieval Project for school. No more than 500 words. I've done 1003 words by mistake. i decided a video is a much better way than writing any more xD
This is excellent! Very very good! Correct me if Im wrong, but the first instrument played is a bombard right? Or something similar? Then I think the pipes hes playing are a French variety of bagpipes called a Vers?
The music is suppose to be loud. It's meant to be played outside or in large great halls not in some small bar. In the proper building it has an amazing sound to it. Makes you want to take a huge bite out of a piece of meat and throw the bones over your shoulder to the dogs.
@ryanyee1234567890 I'm 17 and i love this kinda music! but, i keep it to myself cause there's no point trying to convince people who won't get it anyways :)
Well, I have to disagree :) I can't see no one waving swords, maces or crossbows ( that will be the gangsta :) ) , or singin things like "fuck the king" or something related to booty ( i mean ass - "booty" not the plunge :) ) So it can't be hip hop.
Yeah, I'm 18. People must think I'm weird too. Although I don't put it on my ipod and dance down the high street. But I do love it. Chuck cabbages at people who think your weird, I know i do :)lol
man if someone in the little shallow world of pop music put a techno spin or a rap spin on it, it would become a huge hit! Anyway, I just love medieval/ Renaissance music!
well based on the texture of this piece, its polyphonic, polyphonic textures werent used for a long time, not until the classical era. listen to the drum riff, its obviously a rock style. you can switch all of these instruments with modern day instruments an it would sound like a normal piece on the radio.

You can find medieval festivals all around Europe especially during "medieval markets" in summer time.
I've been to one in Germany also been here in Sweden at Visby and in Åbo, Finland.
